they probably won't win, but they are up 22-18 and shooting the lights out. i cannot believe how fast they play...it's the D'Antoni offense as we knew it from the Suns...7 seconds or less offense...
now they're up 25-18.
as a new yorker who's suffered through the Isaiah Thomas disaster (and who didn't think D'Antoni was the answer), I have to say that it is FUN to watch the Knicks again.
I've watched them play and I think it's horrible. It's quick like the Suns were, but the teamwork that was a feature of the Suns just is not there. That said, I've only seen 3 of there games so maybe they have improved since the last game I watched which was about 2 weeks ago. Harrington is really beasting lately.
Also, just noticed that Gasol is not playing. The Knicks could potentially steal a win here.

Was the Lakers schedule just super easy to start the season?
People were talking about them breaking 70, but lately, they look like a team barely breaking .500
How did they get exposed so quickly?
I know a lot of teams are trying to get Bynum to come out more by using a strong 3 point shooter at the 4 or 5 spot, but there's gotta be more to it.
Thomas is beasting from 3

don't know how the knicks will lure lebron with dantoni as head coach especially lebron now knowing that it is defense that wins championships. transitioning from mike brown's defensive philosophy to dantoni's run and gun seems like a step backwards. at least the knicks are fun to watch again.

It's just very simple.
Teams discovered that guards can go through Fish, Farmar and to some extent, Bryant like they're not there and Bynum is too worried about his offense to help out on defense.
It's not the 4 or 5 spot that's killing us, it's the small point guards.
The biggest problem is Fisher and Farmar.
The one thing I hate about PJ is that he will bench someone like Sasha for the slightest infringment yet keep a "grizzled" veteran like Fisher make bone plays after bone plays and still keep him out here.
Lakers will be hard pressed to win 60 wins let alone 70.
Maybe I could have bought into the 70 wins crap when The Lakers were looking fierce. But now they dont even look liek they can even beat Thunder at this rate.

The Lakers let him go. He is now on the "Where is the D!?" Warriors, and is overpaid. However, wouldn't Turiaf not even make the rotation for the Lakers?
Even if he did, he would be playing third string PF. Behind Gasol and Odom.

The Lakers better start getting Sun Yue ready to be a PG(he played PG in China), the Laker PGs' defense is terrible.

Last season, before the Gasol trade, Lakers had a 15-13 record against teams that made the playoffs that season. After that, we were 11-3 and Gasol was injured early in one loss and missed another. We dumped several games to pretenders.
This year, I think we are 10-1 against teams that made the playoffs last year. When the Lakers go back to an even record against contenders, I'll be worried. Lakers do play to the level of their competition, so watch out league!

I really wish the Lakers had lost this one (and the past few games they played) because quite frankly, I'm sick and tired of them playing down to the level of their competition.
I dunno if it's PJ's lackadasical demeaner or what but ever since he got here the Lakers have been winning but it's never the convincing "I just kicked your ass...what are you going to do about it?" kinda win but rather "damn, the Lakers stole that game from us" kinda win.
This has to stop.
Bad habits are hard to break.
I really don't care about the Spurs fans, the Suns fan, Nuggets fans, etc, etc thinking their teams are going to kick our butts. If they are thinking that, they must be delusional because if they follow the Lakers closely (even last year's surprising run) they ALWAYS play at the level of their competition and they just seem to do enough to beat the team put in front of them...until they run into a really tough team mentally prepared and then the 30, 40 point blowout happens to them.
They ain't gona win jack shit until they break this habit.
Don't fool yourself into thinking they will have it straightened out by the time the playoffs start.
They'll make short work of the Spurs and New Orleans but they won't get past Boston or Detroit..hell they're not even going to get past Cleveland with their current attitude.

Funny you mentioned delusional in your post because that's what that whole post is. Delusional.
The Lakers will make short work of the Spurs and New Orleans but will get beat by Detroit. Classic.

The Lakers will be fine.
No Pau tonight, the whole team had to adjust. I thought they fought hard in the 2nd half.

I'm a laker fan. biatch.
Except I'm not up in sucking them off when their playing like shit like the rest of you homers are. If nothing changes, you are in for a rude awakening.
Heh, who am I kidding, you'll make up excuses for that as well.
Doesn't change a damn thing. You're still a fucktard.

Uh..yeah.
The spurs/Hornets are not physical and won't push the Lakers around like some of the Eastern team does.
What's delusional is actually thinking the Spurs will win in a seven game series against the Lakers being a year older than the last time they met...umm in which the Lakers beat the spurs. (yeah yeah..Manu was not healthy..they shot poorly...blah blah blah)

Just you shouldn't talk before they even play a game. It may or may not caught up with you. Just saying.

Move over Rocket's bandwagoners, here comes the Cav's bandwagon...10 seconds left in the game down by 1 who u give it to? Kobe or lebron? Leron will drive cuz thats all he can do and get doubled and settle for a horrible shot or pass it while kobe can create his shot from anywhere. if u need a stop who u want guarding the best player on the opposite team? Lebron or Kobe? Kobe can lock up when he wants to. NBA finals stripped pierce to get the win for game 5 while lebron got blown by......games 1-7!!!!! dont make this arguement.. Kobe is the best on this planet right now. Lebrons behind him though

This is right up there with the "tripple three" post.

Cool, I understand that.
Come playoff time the Lakers might not even get out of the first round.
But as of right now, I like their chances against any Western Conference teams despite their lackadasical play.
And I only say that because there are no teams in the WC that really bruise you.
Yeah, this is MY opinion only but the Spurs will need to make a couple of moves before they can really contend for the title again.
The Hornets are not what they were last year. Rest of the league has got them figured out and that makes it harder for them to win than they did last year.
Suns will implode. Do you have any doubts with Shaq Fu on that team?
Mavs...well..nuff said.
Only team on the West that scares me are the Nuggets. They are brash enough to think they can win the title and that sort of team scares me.
I hope the Spurs will be there at the end.
I'm one of thsoe rare people that loves the Lakers and likes the Spurs. lol :toast
