Is it me, or this much ado about nothing?

Yes, it's an impressive statistical anomaly that is a testament to how quick his hands are.

On the other hand, you're now hearing him discussed as an All-NBA type defender. Yes, he's gonna pick anybody's pocket a couple times a game. But the better PGs around the league are going to take advantage of his overplays and gambles and get themselves a wide open shot many many more times.

You look at the numbers of his counterparts, and he's far from a lock down defender.

Of course it is, considering the closest after him and Alvin is Jordan with 77.

If it was Parker, you guys would be busting a nut all over that.

Even Jordan didn't put much effort on this lame stat.

CP, enjoy it. That's all. Lets all move the hell on.

But to fair neither Parker or Nash will ever stop anybody.

CP3 is one of the worst defenders at his position. That tells you how overrrated that stat is.

Parker's a pretty underrated defender (when he's expelling effort). There are a couple of guys that have his number, but he holds his own on that end of the floor more often than not.

Nah, really I wouldn't. Most streaks aren't as impressive as they are made out to be. They're as much a statistical anomaly as they are something truly important.

For example, Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hit streak hasn't been close to being broken. Yet, it doesn't rank as one of the 100 most productive 56 games stretches in MLB history.

I go 1-4, 1-4, 1-4: I've got a 3 game hit streak. The next guy goes 3-4, 4-4, 0-1 with 3 walks. He's got no streak, but who was more productive during that stretch?

Paul's steal streak is impressive in the fact that nobody else has done it. But does it really have any meaning when he's played bad defense in many of those 109 games?

Steals and blocked shots weren't recorded until the 1973-74 season. I doubt that anyone had a better streak before then, but if anyone was capable of it, I would pick Walt Frazier or Oscar Robertson.

When it all comes down to it, who cares. All that counts is winning and rings baby.
