Sleepy McGrady once scored 13 points in 33 seconds to help the Rockets overcome the Spurs in a regular-season game:

Sleepy Floyd scored 29 points in one quarter and 39 points in one half as the Warriors beat the Showtime Lakers in a playoff game:

Sleepy McGrady's teams have advanced to the playoffs seven times and failed to advance.
Sleepy Floyd's teams advanced to the playoffs seven times and made it out of the first round twice.
Based on what matters, I think there's absolutely no question that you'd rather take Sleepy Floyd in his prime over Sleepy McGrady. You have a 1 in 3 chance of playing past the first week of May with Sleepy Floyd:

sorry findog, you're normally a pretty classy poster but this thread is just downright stupid. What we would get out of comparing an Ex NBA player to a current one won't do us good. I don't know about the rest of the fans on here, but i will almost always support the player on my team.
+...when listing T-mac's credentials....why just list that 13 33 stuff? He also lead the league in scoring 2 yrs in a row, it is almost undeniable that t-mac never peaked out because of his injuries, the Nuggets game was the most agile game t-mac played in 3 seasons probably due to the rest he has been getting.

^ It would be like comparing Josh Howard to Mark Aguirre. Both Floyd and McGrady played for H-Town. I'm legitimately curious as to who people would rather have in their prime, McGrady or Floyd.

T-Mac in his prime is one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.
I still feel he is the most naturally talented and gifted player in NBA history, only to have his career decimated by wimpiness and injuries. The guy may have the most natural basketball instincts in any player we have ever seen. He does everything so smoothly and seemingly effortlessly.

13 in 33 and 29 in a quarter is probably the most memorable things Floyd and McGrady ever did. I agree McGrady has suffered from injuries.

I never got to see Floyd play, a better comparison would be Drex vs T-Mac and it's pretty clear who people would pick.
Mcgrady isn't what people want him to be in Hou, but he was one asst away from 2 triple doubles in 3 games.

Sleepy Floyd was an integral part of two teams that advanced to the semis, something T-Mac can't say.
what were Floyd's career playoff and reg season stats though? 12 ppg....yah know what...that Boy Horry has twice as many rings as Kobe so consequently he's better.

One round isn't that big of a difference. Especially since the Jazz series when they went 7 wasn't his fault at all. JVG screwed that one up. T-Mac has always played his balls off in the playoffs. His team usually failed him miserably.

No doubt McGrady has been consistently better for longer, but what about in their prime?
In 86-87, Floyd averaged 19 points on 51% shooting, 10 dimes and 2 steals a game, and got his team past Stockton and Malone in the first round before his memorable bukakke against the legendary Showtime Lakers in the semis.
What was McGrady's best year? In 02-03, he averaged 32 points per game on 46% shooting, along with 5 dimes and 2 steals. The Magic finished 42-40, same record as the Warriors in 86-87, before choking against the Pistons in the first round.
So I guess the better ? is, who would you rather have, 86-87 Floyd or 02-03 McGrady?

You're not the chosen brother, Eli. It was Paul who was chosen. You see, he found me and told me about your land. You're just a fool.

Also, keep in mind that Sleepy Floyd was available for mustache rides. What can TMac do for the ladies with that lazy eye?

Now to my mind, its an abomination to consider that any man, woman or child in this magnificent country of ours should have to look upon a first round playoff victory as a luxury.

How the mighty Mavericks have fallen...we're now in the same boat as the Rockets.

32ppg on 46% shooting is pretty damn good when you are a one man workhorse with a shit team. If you don't believe me, there is a T-Mac magic game on every week on NBA tv, see for yourself what a pathetic excuse the magic had of ever wanting to win anything...

T-Mac had Darrell Armstrong and Grant Hill (sometimes), that is nothing to sneeze at. Sleepy Floyd had Joe Barely Cares and Purvis Short on that 87 Warrior team.

Just look at McGrady's effortless stroke from the free throw line.
Personally I feel that Jerry Stackhouse was the most naturally gifted player in NBA history, but reasonable people can differ on this point.
