Why do the LA Clippers exist?

I don't know about you guys, but I forget there is another team in LA until my team plays them. They are right at the threshold of not sucking enough to make the news (Like the Lions), but they are never good enough to make the news either. They seem to be stuck in the lottery, and I can't imagine one rational Los Angelan (if that's a word) that would choose to be a Clippers fan. I mean I root for the Cleveland teams because I was born here, and I still question why I do after every season of a particular sport. I can't imagine how I would feel if I chose to root for a perpetual loser over a team that wins that happens to play in the same arena.

So why does this team still exist? They sign players on the tail end of their careers (Baron Davis), they never develop any of their lottery picks- all they do is suck. Why don't the Clippers move to Seattle and suck there? Atleast the Seattle fans would be happy they have a team.

It's funny, I look at their roster every time the Cavs play them and it's a handful of guys I've forgot about for the other 364 days of the year. What prompted me to ask this was the Eric Gordon news, I remember him from college but I had no idea where he was drafted. Playing for the Clippers is like falling off the face of the earth

I personally think The League would benefit enormously by cutting 4-6 teams. The Clippers would be a good place to start. Followed by OKC, MIL & CHA.

I think Oklahoma City will be good in a couple years- maybe not good in basketball, but they will make money because there is nothing else to do in the winter in Oklahoma (not that there is much going on the rest of the year). I think it will turn into how Portland is where they rally around their only pro franchise.

I agree. But I don't care for Oklahoma or the way in which they acquired their team and therefore I'd just assume the Thunder not do well or not even exist. Though, you're right, just like any other small market team with a 100% corner on a city, they'll probably do well.

Hell, even I who got to watch the NBA only the Bulls area in Europe, am a Clippers fan. I like them. I like Al Thornton, I like that there is another team than the Lakers and I think that the Clippers will be better once the season advances. I went to San Francisco once, and I have to say there are a lot of Clippers fans out there, and I hope they will make the playoffs.

Angels have fans. It's about 75/25 as far as SoCal, and that's pretty damn good for a team that didn't get here first.

Why can't the Clips play at the Honda center like they used to?It's in Anaheim after all. It doesn't make sense for them to play at Staples with the Lakers.
