If you don't have HD, and can afford it without going into debt...DO IT.

HD is the shit. I used to think the ppl bragging about HD were snobs but the shit will blow your mind at first!

I can buy the Samsung with one straight payment; the only thing is that I don' have is HD feed, so I would have to invest in an HD digital box (regular feed looks blurry on a high def TV).
Plus, I would like to get an HD PVR, but I read things about issues with recorded shows disappearing.

Basically, I'm not sure if I want to invest in all that.

I do have a PS3 though (for the blue ray)

if you're gonna go hd, you gotta go all the way...hdmi cable, surround sound, digital optic audio cord, wall mount, and DEFINITELY hd feed (gotta have it)

depending on size, the regular signal will look shitty on an hdtv...i have a 50" and can attest...but i also have a 32" that is not as bad.

definitely go the dvr...we have dish and upgraded to the dual tuner dvr which gives you picture in picture and allows you to record 2 hd signals at once...bad ass!

if you just want to try it out or can't afford all the bells and whistles, start with an hd over the air antenna. that's what i use for tailgating and since dish network doesn't have nbc in hd, i use that to watch the sunday night foorball games in hd...i mess around with a bunch of different brands and types before i landed on this from radio shack for $50. it's indoor type, they have others that mount on a pole on top of your house but i didn't want to go through all that trouble

Thks

oh, and if you go with just the tv and antenna, you HAVE to get the monster cable surge protector. it's protects against surges and actually cleans the electricity in your house. to clarify, with our old tv, every time we ran the microwave and ice machine on the refridgerator, there was static. this surge protector cleans the energy and prevents it from damaging the screen. they have different types and levels for different sized tvs

by the way, who's fighting tomorrow?

So who are you going to buy it for? If you are fortunate enough to be able to buy such a nicity and give it to someone less fortunate, that's absolutely great!

happy Boxing day.

avoid monster products like the plague. they aren't made any different than anything else. you can get a good surge protector for half of 1/3 of the price of a monster, just like any other monster product. DO NOT buy an HDMI cable a best buy/futureshop. order them online for $5-10, it's the same thing without fancy packaging.

Monster stuff is the most overpriced shit out there.

Just goto PC Outlet if you are in San Antonio. Same stuff, ridiculously better prices.

whoever came up with the idea of boxing day sales or end of year sales....should get a punch in the face, and another punch to the face to remind them the douche they are

fkn spent a few hrs walking around the cbd metro....looking to get a good bargain on a laptop, whatta disappointment, not much savings and the specs were fukn shit for the price your paying compared to a few months ago.....

the only savings were on clothes, bedding stuff and watever...

I decided to get nothing.

I'm sure I 'll get even better deals in a few mothns.

Boxing day isn't worth the hassle; I saw so many people standing in those inhuman lineups, what a bunch of douchebags, considering they won't save much (on electronics)

Boxing day is a day to give to the less fortunate anyway. Not to buy for yourself.
