As good as I feel for winning a xmas game and my boy rog bringing us to the mountain top I can't help but think how horrible we looked today(excluding duncan). As much as I hate to say this but if that was a little bit better team out there they wouldve wiped the floor with us.tim duncan is our frontline. Anyone feel me.

Apart from Manu sucking and some of Tony's play at the end I think they did a fair job today.

Yeah we've been lucky the past 5 years or so against the Suns every single time. It has nothing to do with complete ownage.

Yeah Kurt Thomas who played great defense on Stoudamire and Shaq was invisible.

You need a new TV.

6 games in 9 days (2 back to back) for the Spurs.
Suns had 4 days rest before that game.

That was a fucking great win on the SUNS court !!!

some people here are just stupid, and it's starting to annoy me..

what the hell did you expect? we missed A TON of open shots..it was our 4th game in 5 nights..Phoenix didn't play in a while..Phoenix got EVERY break from the refs..Shaq played as well as he can at this point, so did Grant Hill..Stoudemire had a great game..Ginobili is probably about 80-85%, WE WERE ON THE ROAD..it's December..all that, and we STILL won the game..

as for the front court, I'm tired of this issue..Shaq and Amare had MONSTER games when you combine them..there isn't a front court in the NBA that could have had a better game then Amare/Shaq did today, YET WE STILL WON..god damn..

also, like somebody else already said, we're a grind-out team..we prefer these games, we always have..

the December "excuse" is completely legit..Popovich cares so little about this time of the year, he lets the players coach in some of the games..

Or maybe people forgot the thrashing we took in the wcf(while healthy )looking like we did tonight.and as a loyal fan I must say if duncan gets no help its gonna get ugly. He played his ass off and we only won at the buzzer. Thsts aint good(but ill take the win)

Unfortunately, some fans don't have a long term perspective when it comes to this team.

First, this was a great win on Christmas Day especially after the sluggish start in the first quarter.

The game was a Spurs pace and the Suns was forced to play the Spurs style. The Spurs are a team that will grinding it out with you for four quarters and the Suns didn't get many second shot opportunities and turned the ball over quite a bit.

Also, in a 82 game season you are going to have close wins and close losses. That goes with the territory!

Remember in the first game with Suns (the first game of the season) the Suns were only ahead by 2 points with less than 15 seconds or so to play and if TD hits that three...the Spurs would have been up by one point. The Suns made foul shots and won by 5!!

Second, I will believe you have a little bit of revisionist history on last year's WCF.

Game 1: 85-89 Lakers
Game 2: 71-101 Lakers
Game 3: 103-84 Spurs
Game 4: 91-93 Lakers
Game 5: 92-100 Lakers

Three really close games and one blowout by each team!! Also, Manu was hurt and the Spurs didn't have a consistent third option shooting in that series.

That series was really competitive and the Lakers deserve credit for winning it...but to say we got crushed is an overstatement!!

Lastly, over the years the Spurs during their championship runs have had many close games or buzzer beater to win games. The key is how they played and where they able to dictate the style of game they wanted.

They did that today and won the game!!

Merry Christmas!

Too bad you feel that way!!

Maybe if your team executed on defense down the stretch...they would have won!!

Oh well...better luck next time!!!

You could choose to look at it like that.

Or you could say that the team was playing ON THE ROAD against a QUALITY and RESTED team, and got key stops when they needed it, got basically any shot they wanted the entire game (wasn't falling for some stretches), and - most importantly - WON the game.

if the Spurs had actually made their FTs down the stretch they wouldn't have even been in the position to have to win with a buzzer beater.

Spurs were out-hustling the Suns for the whole second half. Suns were lucky to even be in a position to win---a few lucky breaks from the refs helped.

Why don't the Suns ever get lucky and beat the Spurs? When was the last time the Suns beat the Spurs in an important game? It's not luck that the Spurs have over the Suns, it's skill and total domination a superior team has over another. You can talk all the shit you want but you do realize your team won't ever win the important games when they count. They don't have the right skill - defense.

Luck, skill, coaching or whatever...We won the game. You need to think about this young man...Don't you think that Phoenix would do anything to be the ones stunning the Spurs on national TV? Gimme a break...Luck is part of the chemistry of being Championship caliber..Can you say "Memorial Day Miracle?" Was it luck or skill? Who knows? Let others decide but for Spurs fans it was an exciting victory.:lobt2:

I can respect your point. Being a spurs fan myself I was very pleased and jumped out of my seat when big rog hit that three. Everyone laughed because i called it before the time out. I said i bet rog is coming in and after he hit the shot I ran through the house annoying everyone. My point is I want another ring just like you and the spurs are doing damn well giving the circumstances but i dont think that wouldve worked against La or boston. Being that I think were still gonna be in the thick of things. But overall Im good with the W

If you can keep a score within 3 points and get a last shot attempt, that is not luck, whether you make it or not. We came back from an 11 point lead (not luck), we've played a killer schedule these last few days (not luck), the game was in PHX (not luck). These victories are the sweetest, enjoy them.
