Thursday Sept 4

NY Jets @ Washington - Everyone good from NYJ either plays for Washington or is hurt, so the Deadskins take it.

Sunday Sept 7

Arizona @ Detroit - The best part about this game is that (in all likelyhood) one of these teams will have a winning record this season for at least one week. Mooch era starts with a W

Denver @ Cincinnati - One of the few opening week no-brainers. Portis starts off with a push for the rushing title

Indianapolis @ Cleveland - The Browns shock a few folks and pull this one out. Dwayne Rudd isn't around to give away a week 1 win anymore- so that is good.

Minnesota @ Green Bay - Randy Ratio or no Randy Ratio, Culpepper still isn't a superstar QB, despite what fantasy owners like to believe. The real Superstar QB (Favre) shows he still has gas left in the tank.

San Diego @ Kansas City - 2nd year guy Quinten Jammer is the vetern in the SD secondary, which means a shoot-out versus KC. In the end, SD's offense can't keep up with KC's.

Atlanta @ Dallas - No Vick = trouble in the Bird Nest. Dallas looks surprisingly good in its first real outing under the Tuna. But is it just creating an illusion of false hope in Big D?

New Orleans @ Seattle - The Hawk's got better on D adding Marcus Trufant and Randall Godfrey. Add a much improved defense to an already potent offense, and you have a good team. NO can't even stop a D-2 college team from scoring. Hawks win.

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh - Turnover Tommy reverts to form as the Raven's D outscores the Pitt O by itself.

Houston @ Miami - Ricky Mania against the woeful Texans.

Jacksonville @ Carolina - Rodney Peete once again defies science by becoming the first 90 year old to win an NFL game.

New England @ Buffalo - MY UPSET SPECIAL. Drew finally gets his revenge, tossing for close to 400 in the opener.

St. Louis @ NY Giants - Rams look like its 1999 and the Giants look like its every September since 1993.

Chicago @ San Francisco - UPSET SPECIAL NUMERO DOS! Jeff Garcia lasts less than 1 half and the Bears try to shake off their terrible season last year.

Oakland @ Tennesee - The Dinner Bell has rung at Oakland Municipal Nursing Home- it's over RAAAIDAAS. Titans blow out the aged wonders.

Mon Sept 8

Tampa Bay @ Philadelphia - Philly once again finds a way to beat Tampa when it doesn't count, setting up an even more disappoint playoff loss to the Bucs.

Thursday Sept 4

NY Jets @ Washington - The Washington Jetskins take this one. I look for the Redskins to force a couple of big plays on defense, and toss a couple of deep passes to Coles.

Sunday Sept 7

Arizona @ Detroit - Tails it is, I say Detroit.

Denver @ Cincinnati - Upset special, Cincinnati

Indianapolis @ Cleveland - Indianapolis in a blowout.

Minnesota @ Green Bay - Green Bay squeaks by.

San Diego @ Kansas City - KC 45, SanDiego 31.

Atlanta @ Dallas - Dallas. Look for big plays from the Dallas D.

New Orleans @ Seattle - NO 31, Seattle 28.

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh 28, Baltimore 24

Houston @ Miami - Miami

Jacksonville @ Carolina - Jacksonville

New England @ Buffalo - Buffalo. Big day for Travis Henry

St. Louis @ NY Giants - Rams

Chicago @ San Francisco - SF, I guess.

Oakland @ Tennesee - Another slow start for Tennessee, Oakland wins.

Mon Sept 8

Tampa Bay @ Philadelphia - Philly.

In fact, I think all of Cleveland's linebackers from last year are missing.

And the friendly competition has started already.

You and I may get some seperation after this week GoN- we've got quite a number of different picks. I'm excited to see what our picks look like against the spread. My all time one-week high for correct picks is 14/16 - shoulda gone to Vegas that week.
