Rasho was once again a wasted space on the court

DAMN, Pop should of played Nazir today

T Park

of course.

Its Rasho's fault they had 22 turnovers.

Ignore his 3 or 4 blocks of course.

Wouldn't want you to cloud your judgement there ace.

TD needs to start averaging 40pts, 20rbs a night to make up for Rasho doing nothing

Turnovers. Nuff said. Rasho has plenty of games where he goes for 4/4 and we win.

Just waiting on the first "we would have won this with Malik" thread. :rolleyes

We traded Malik for a better player, and Pop didnt want to play that player

Griz played a rough game, and Rasho just isn't tough enough to rough it back at them.

Rasho played okay. He played good defense, blocked 3 shots, inhibited lots of others. The Griz shot 38% and the Spurs shot 42%.

The Griz are very good at creating TOs and the Spurs had what 24 or 25 TOs? Rasho didn't have any of those TOs. Manu had 7, the last one the most inopportune.

The Spurs did not come out strong and they did not have their heads in the game. Even TP stopped running in the 4th. The Spurs lost to a team that wanted it more than they did tonight. This wasn't about Rasho.

Blame it on the post-Malik funk...

You guys seem to always equate blocked shots to good defense. Good defense is about MUCH more than blocked shots. Yes getting blocks can be a result of good defense but blocked shots do not equate to good D.

you think 4rbs and 4pts is okay? :lol :lol :lol :lol

who cares if he had 3 blks, I would rather of had a small lieup then have him take up space on the court

Solid D

If you add blocked and altered shots to good positional defense, then it is good D.

When Rasho went out, the Griz made a significant run...or did anyone not notice that?

Case in point...Rasho goes out with the Spurs leading 14-10. Rasho is replaced by Robert Horry. Rasho comes back in with the Spurs trailing 31-21. Horry played very poorly and the transition D was horrendous. That run made a significant difference as the game wore on.

You just can't blame this game on Rasho. He wasn't fantastic, but he played fine on defense.

You know what's really funny? I was just thinking about what the Malik haters were going to do now that he's no longer around to be the scapegoat...

I bet AHF had a stroke.

By the way...let me be the first to say we lost this game because Malik was traded...and you are naive if you don't think his absence had just a little bit to do with the teams aimless performance...

You don't subtract a guy that has been here as long as Malik has, played as big a role as Malik has, and not have some kind of psychogical ripple on the team...at least temporarily.

But that's ok...you go on pretending Malik wasn't important to this team and it's players and that his absence wasn't noticed tonight on some level by every guy on that court, including Pop...you'll be dead wrong about that.

It was distracting...they were distracted...and they played like it.

I most def. think the Spurs were not all there tonight. Their spirit was nil. The loss of a good friend to a trade can do that.

I agree that Rasho should be contributing more, but stop the nonsense saying that he sucks. This offense runs through TP, Manu, and Tim. Rasho has no set plays and often has to go to the high post to clear space for Tim stopping him from getting offensive rebounds. He should have had more defensive boards, but rebounds are hard to come by when Timmy grabs 20. He was the only Spur to play more than 6 mins w/o commiting a TO. He only missed one shot and blocked 3 of them, he was not the problem tonight. We wont beat anyone with 16 TOs between our three stars.

Malik has been a cancer for the last 2 seasons....do you think the Spurs would have dealt him away if Timmy wanted him to stay, come on guys wake up

Tim's the only one who showed up to play the entire game.

When that happens, there is no way that the spurs can win.

Yeah, it's all about the turnovers. The Spurs shot a better percentage and did about everything else better than the Grizzlies. But 20+ turnovers gave the Grizzlies 17 more FG attempts. You can't blame the loss on much more than that.

Rasho is probably one of the worst Spurs centers ever. He actually gives Bateer a run. Nice move Popovich.

Man! Why do you hate Rasho so much? Are these coments for real, or are they a way to get on the board? There never seems to be anything good about Rasho coming from you. He could've had a 15-10 game and you would've found something to bash him for.

Sequ hates: Rasho,Manu,Malik,Life,People,Himself,etc.

The list goes on forever...

Hi all, I'm a member over at Spursreport, and I just joined here. Well anyway, last night I posted a message over there with some stats I came up with. Nazr's stats may be a bit inflated in this, because he's from the East, and it doesnt mention defense. But anyway here they are:

(The higher the eff the better- Pts/Mins, Rebs/Mins)

Western Conference Centers
Mins---PPG----RPG----Pt Eff-----------Reb Eff----------Overall Eff
19.8---6.72---5.2-----0.308-----------0.261------------0.284

Mohammed Nazr
Mins---PPG----RPG----Pt Eff-----------Reb Eff----------Overall Eff
28.1---10.9---8.1-----0.388 (+.080)---0.288 (+.027)----0.338 (+.054)

Rasho Nesterovic
Mins---PPG----RPG----Pt Eff-----------Reb Eff----------Overall Eff
25.1---5.70---6.7-----0.227 (-.081)---0.267 (+.006)----0.247 (-.037)

Those are good stats, and I think eventually, maybe next season, Nazr will start.

true.. and nazr was on the court with kurt and tim thomas, but rasho plays together with timmy. and he just dont need to score, but help tim on offense and the most important on defense.

Robert Horry....18 min.....ZERO POINTS.....only 2 boards....2 TO's (Rasho had zero TO's)

The problem was turnovers...there were times when it look like Parker, Manu, And Duncan might have been colored blind and therefore throwing to the wrong jersey/team.

Agreed. The passing was horrible, and not just the passes that resulted in turnovers. In the first half, so many passes were off the mark that guys were having to jump and lunge to catch almost every single one. They were just completely out of sync from top to bottom.
