Some people consider NBA live 08 as a garbage but I still think it's a great game, especially on condition that NBA live 09 is not avalible for PC. EA games are mostly disappointing but their NBA series are definitely exceptions. I have been playing NBA live series since NBA live 05, and EA sports have been making progress year by year. I am in favour of NBA live 08 and so is Daryl Morey who is the GM of rockets.
Since he took charge of the rockets team, morey has excuted a couple of
roster moves that have upgraded their talent obviously. Stealing Scola from spurs, signing Barry, robbing kings of Ron artest, he really has done a great job. But why the hell is he so acute in moving rosters? His answer is just NBA live 08. "NBA 08 is my favourite and I love it deeply." Morey said " it (NBA live 08) is more than a game for me, but a tool that helps me estimate and select the rosters."
Morey now is in Haiwii, attending the "Maui Classic college tournament" where there are plenty of potential young basketball players for him to scout.
" If you are considering trading for Ron Artest, then you must try him in the virtual games before you actually excute this trade in the real life. In the games you can see what changes he will bring us to our team, and you can also try several different offensive strategies to see which one best fits the new team with Artest."
" Although the season has just begun, NBA live 08 has already collected enough information for you to estimate these rookies like Kevin Love and O.J.Mayo. For instance, you can find the ratio Mayo attacks on the left wing to that when he attacks on the right wing, and what differences it will make whether Mayo makes a jumper-shot or jumper-pass."
It's said that there are more than half of the teams in this league who are using NBA live 08 estimating their rosters. Morey said " you can discover a player's effciency in many areas of offense, like one on one low post attack or perimeter pick&roll. You can also discover one's preference in defense."
Plus, Morey also seriously pointed out:" virtual games are really pretty great, so great that they are becoming more and more important for the GMs to estimate his rosters. However, virtual games can never tell you how tired a player is after going through a back to back games, not can they translate your rosters' body language they speak on the bench to english. For sure the morale of the rosters can't be simulated either. Some things are better to be estimated by virtual games but others still need you to observe in person."
