Looks like the Cardinals finally sold out their first playoff game in forever. How lame are Arizona fans?

The Falcons should win this one fairly comfortably.

Can't wait for this one to get over so we can move on to the Colts-Chargers main event tonight :hungry:

I picked the Falcons too but the more I think about it, I think the Cardinals are going to handle them pretty well. Atlanta's a 4-4 road team and Arizona's a 6-2 home team, and it's just way too much of a stretch to think the road teams are going to sweep.

Warlord23
01-03-2009, 05:10 PM
Yeah, so far Atlanta has nothing going for them. The normally mediocre Cardinals D is owning them, and Edgerrin James has looked much better running the ball than Turner. Add to that the Warner-Fitzgerald combo, and this looks like a bad, bad day for the Falcons

J.T.
01-03-2009, 05:15 PM
Indy and Baltimore are probably the safest road team bets. Philly has the potential to completely fucking obliterate Minnesota, but at the same time they have the potential to get lit up by Tarvaris Jackson.

Hmm, groceries, mortgage, Cardinals game.

Yeah I can see how that would make people lame.

They did end up selling out, so evidently there were enough buyers who didn't end up worrying about groceries or mortgage payments, fatass.

Nice misdirection there by the Falcons.

This is gonna be a underwatched classic. Two good offenses going head to head here. The Cardinals offense is hot and cold, the Falcons seem to be finally getting in a rythum.

Matt Ryan is going to be scary scary good in a couple years.

T Park
01-03-2009, 05:50 PM
Nice INT

Falcons great chance to take the lead here.

T Park
01-03-2009, 05:54 PM
Ryan looks really poised back there. Falcons really really look balanced on offense. If thier development keeps going the Falcons are gonna be a damn good team next year. The only thing holding them back would be a sophmore jinx by Ryan.

I have been in and out of Phoenix several times over the last year. The general standard of living and per capita income here is better than other NFL cities like Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Green Bay etc. Playoff tickets start from $60 upwards. The only explanation is that Phoenix is a city of transplants, who have no particular loyalty for local sports teams. And most of the bandwagoners probably follow the Suns or D-Backs.

Back on topic, Atlanta is looking more comfortable now ... the INT certainly helped. IDK why Arizona stopped running the ball more, which was working well for them

That may be, but they are also top 5 in the nation in foreclosure rates. So their economy is not the hottest. Trust me, I do business in that state and things arent too hot there.

I don't know how much freedom Warner has with calling the plays, but I think they got a little greedy on the pass plays after the throws to Fitzgerald and Boldin.

Dr. Gonzo
01-03-2009, 06:18 PM
That was a good defensive play. It's funny to think that the Cards D is winning the game for them now.

T Park
01-03-2009, 06:27 PM
The Cardinals have turned the intensity up about 10 notches and that defense is flying around. Collinsworth is 100% right, that was a hold in the end zone and should've been another 2 points for the Cardinals.

Warner and Co have to take advantage right here, they have the Falcons on their heels and need to smack them back in the face with a good offensive drive here.

T Park
01-03-2009, 06:28 PM
Falcons left their heads back in the locker room. Their youth may be starting to show here. Coach Smith has got to pull his defense aside right now and remind them to play smart and to keep away from dumb penalties.

T Park
01-03-2009, 06:32 PM
Good defensive stand by the Falcons there. Debateable missed hold PI.

Rackers missing that field goal could put the momentum back in the Falcon's favor.

Slinkyman

Refs have been keeping ATL in the game in the 2nd half, let's see if they can take advantage.

God Tiki Barber is a horrible sideline reporter...

T Park
01-03-2009, 06:39 PM
The Falcons offense is too one reciever centric, and the defense is starting to get picked apart.

Falcons need to plug the leaks quickly or the game is gonna get away from em.

T Park
01-03-2009, 06:46 PM
Warner is just carving the Falcon's defense to shreads. His long Mid west coast offense is killing em.

Dr. Gonzo

Game is over. Matt Ryan looks like a rookie today. He will have a great career though. Gotta give it up to him for such a great season.

T Park
01-03-2009, 06:54 PM
Yeah Ryan is being too impatient back there, but again, his offensive line is protecting him that well either. Catch 22.

The big problem is they have gone wayyy away from the successfull running game wich is what got them to the playoffs to begin with.

T Park
01-03-2009, 07:12 PM
This game unfortunately is over. Alot of potential to this one, but the Falcons have just showed their in experience today on the offensive line and defensive side of the ball.

If the cowboys ever win another playoff game you know they'll do the same, and their fans will riot in the streets overturning cars but good thing we'll never have to worry about that happening any time soon.

By the way isn't it funny that the Cardinals are more legit then the cowboys?

Oh come on, the Cowboys wouldn't have been able to hold the lead against ATL. Honestly, Romo would not have been able to make that 3rd down throw, he would have thrown a pick 6 and ATL wins 31-30.

When the offensive line was healthy and giving him time, Romo was carving defenses APART.

You would be no better than the Chargers, who were blaming their entire season on Ed before week 17. Indy had a couple pick that they could have had that could have ended it also.

Doesn't really matter since if they made a pick in overtime it would've been negated by any number of bullshit pre-snap penalties. Next.

Shut the fuck up. You're the biggest piece of shit fairweather fan in this forum and everyone knows it. At least TSA has an excuse for not posting here anymore but you run and hide like bitch hiding from the bully trying to steal your lunch money and then when your team gets gifted with a playoff berth and an unbelievable win, you're in here running your mouth like the Chargers won the round 1 Super Bowl. When the Chargers lose, you'll be long gone from this place, and at least I'll have that over you. Good game, enjoy the win, and I hope you choke to death on your cheerios.
sorry I worked 70-75 hours of work when chargers were losing
and now the shop has 3 hired 3 more people and working less hours now

I am talking about the play where Rivers had all dqy to throw and threw it near 3 Colt player, with about 4:30 on the clock. I forgot who tipped it(That should have caught it) and it went by Sanders.

Edit:Sorry for typo's, but it's tough to type on the PS3

The Steelers aren't that great, are they?

I admit - I haven't watched a whole lot of football this season, but from what I have seen, Rothlisberger isn't anything special, yet again...and the rest of the team is just ok.

Hm. whatever. anything other than a Giants/Titans SB, and I couldn't care less.

Their defense is steel curtain like this year.

The Charger's offense was "decent' against a mediocre d in Indianapolis.

Pittsburgh's defense is gonna smash them in the face.

Philly has an offense ranked in the top 10. A defense ranked in the top 5. Has two recent wins against the Cowboys and Giants that they made look easy. And are now one of only 8 teams left standing.
