So I just bought a used Nordictrack 1800 treadmill for $200 off craigslist, it appears to be in decent shape, fired it up and walked/ran a bit on it but its got an annoying squeak going on. Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop that? (aside from buying a new treadmill) If i have my ipod on i may not hear it but i have a feeling my girlfriend is going to bitch about the squeak.

Im setting it up so I can play xbox 360 on my 108" screen (projector) while getting my hour of cardio in per day. If that won't motivate me nothing will.

I have found that if you don't use your treadmill then it won't make any noise, squeaking or otherwise!!! :lol:toast

Lol. That is not the plan, i lost 25 lbs last year using mostly just a treadmill and some dumbbells, but when we moved to cali we sold it because it was a tank, i was hoping this was smaller but its kind of a tank too but seems pretty well built. The biggest reason i gained weight back was because we duh sold the treadmill.

Just make sure you know what lube to use I screwed mine up by using the wrong stuff before. Grab one of those cans of Dust off two it works well to clean things out with.

How new is the treadmill (if you had to guess)? Most of the newer ones have stuff on the opposite side of the walking belt that should not need to be greased/lubed and could possibly be damaged by doing so.

I bought ours at sears and just had the technician out Friday to work on ours for the walking belt slipping/giving... it was warrantied but I asked how much it'd be for the maintenance like that if not warrantied and he said it started at ~$150 a visit. My repair was valued at $250 according to the thing I signed... so having someone come and fix it probably wouldn't be worth it.

I set up TV/DVD player in front of the treadmill to keep me entertained - I'll save the Spurs games from the night before and will watch them in the morning during my workout if they played the night before and I was able to avoid watching/didn't go/etc. I don't know if I could keep two hands on a 360 controller and play while on there though.

Its from 2001 or 2002 you can tell its had pretty light use overall, i tried to play xbox 360 while doing walking on a slight incline and had to quit after a few minutes when I was shot into the wall right behind the treadmill. When I woke up this morning I noticed there was a hole in the wall where my heel hit it, too bad i didnt get it on film for youtube, I was playing call of duty 4. Surprisingly even though Im athletic and coordinated it's very difficult to concentrate on walking straight and playing the game at the same time. I had much better success when I played Texas Holdem online, so I will stick to that, Uno and movies while I walk away the lbs.
