It usually takes about as much time as you were injured to get back at 100 %.
Manu didn't play for about 3 months. So I'd say he'll really be himself by February.

He'll never again be what he once was. he's at about 80% and his max is probably around 90% and diminishing

I would tend to agree with this statement. Ginobili is now in his early 30s, with a lot of miles on the tires, and coming off a pretty serious ankle injury.

Those expecting him to fully return to the Ginobili of last year may be waiting a while.

Unfortunately this is probably the start of the decline for Manu.

I think he could get back to the form of last year what I think he can't get back is his form of 2005, that trully was Ginobili at his best.

It was only 3 years ago. And what he did in 2005 was not only driving in but also he was hot from the perimeter. He has gotten better on his perimiter game since then which means it open up the lane for him a little better.

I think he can be just as good as he was in 2005 with his IQ, his shot accuracy and his defense.

for the first time last night he gave me hope.

Yup.

After the play he was juiced. He realized that he still had it. He was chomping on the bit ready to make another play.

His body language was like 'I wish another mother fucker would try and dunk on me!'

That mental recovery from an injury is the hardest step. Manu broke thru last night.

Manu is special...hes the kinda guy that will do mind over matter, 30 isnt old. i think hes just fine. if we got 43 yr old boxers, still doing their thing (hopkins) then we can have a 30 yr old baller still dunking on folks.

Manu had plenty of rest due to his injury. He'll be back 100+% after the all-star break, just in time for the rodeo-trip :toast

the block was great, but the open court drive and layup against Marion was even more encouraging. Manu looked super quick

hes feeling competitive again, you can see it. last few games, in the beginning, he comes out and takes lazy shots, and hes been cold. but last night, i saw him hustling on every play, feelin it like he was on fire. its the competition. he knew we needed a basket he went end to end. he knew we needed a stop so he blocked the SHIT out of d-wade.
hes at 76% with a potential to at any time go to 267%, like always. just wait till he gets hot like last year, and has a string of like 5 straight 30 plus games.

I think he can definitely be as good as last year's regular season Manu..there's no way he's declined that much from last year..he won't be as good as 2005 Manu, but definitely as good as last year..

Agreed. We all know we've seen the best of Manu already. He's still a great player though. If anything a lesser moving Manu is a smarter playing Manu. He seems more comfortable on his jump shot, then on creating things with his body that his body just cant deliever. A wiser Manu or a Wild Manu? I like the wiser one with a touch of Roger Mason on the side.

Not bad for a guy who missed camp, preseason and much of the beginning of the season.

So if he were 100% he would have snatched that dwane wade layup and ran down court for the dunk...I do agree with this statement as well, where ginobilli can continue to improve and lean on is his experience and court savy
