I found it interesting to point how much precious it is to have a PG who score at a high FG %

anyway, the title doesn't seem too appropriate for tony considering his FG % for the 4 previous years has no reason to be jealous of nash one (50 % or more for both).

also, it's interesting to see that Nash assists per game number is 3 assists lower than previous years. some people arguing that Nash assists number had nothing to do with D'Antoni system now understand that, of course, the kind of gameplan of a team has a lot to do with the numbers of assists of the PG.

he has obviously all the things to be a great player. maybe even more than great. but i'm not sure the FG % will be his main quality.

So, who is the next bad defensive player who will be eliminated by the Spurs on a regular basis?

There are plenty of candidates.

there isn't anybody in the NBA that compares to a prime Nash..nobody plays the same way..

Calderon puts up the closest numbers, but he doesn't create plays or penetrate half as well as Nash..Jose doesn't take risks in his passes, and he doesn't run the fast break..stats would be the only similarity..

i guess the point of the article was to talk about PG who score at high FG %, which is not usual.

i didn't bring it to talk specifically about Nash, since i don't really care about him and it's basically impossible here to talk about any non-spurs player without having plenty of bashing posts.

It should have been obvious when it spiked upon his leaving Dallas.

Fan who actually watch him play. Good post. Also even worse than Nash in D.

Nash in a league all by himself. You could say Nash took over for John Stockton. Both great point guards who could hit from the outside. Both made their teams better. But neither has a real ring to show for it. As for right now, maybe Rose might be that good enough. You cant say CP3. Because CP3 is in a league all by himself as well. Cant say Dwill either, because he chokes on the road and in the POs.

who ever he is, he'll be a product of a d'antoni system or a d'antoni wannabe. all offense no defense.

I don't get the spurs fans concerning Nash.

The guy might be an ''all offense, no defense"" PG but still, he is (was?) a great player, very entertaining.
Also, he has a great mindset and seems to be a nice fella off the court.
As for his two MVP awards, the jury is to be blamed, not him.

Plus he always loses against us so... why so serious?

There it is. No titles to his credit. No FINALS MVP awards. But damn, he's entertaining. :rolleyes

once again, the article is not only about nash but also about the significance of having a PG who shot at a high %, with a list of the best examples including Tony. That's the reason why i brought this article here but i was too lazy to change the title. so, it's not really and only about Nash.

Devin Harris is the next Steve nash, imo

I'm telling you...LUKE RIDNOUR. Similar game, athleticism, intelligence, and their career arcs (to this point) are striking similar.

If Ridnour played in run and gun like Nash did in Dallas then Phoenix, he'd be the exact same player Nash was.

So the answer is... any modern PG.
So far, there are 14 PG shooting over 45% this season, 12 last year.
From 2000 to 2007 they were 5 to 7.
I believe the PG role is changing. And I think Tony is one of the responsible for this. Despite not being a great shooter he was able to bring high% scoring.
I think this had an impact on all the young PG.
