Lets face it
there was no
Odom
Walton
Farmer
odom got hurt in the 2nd Q where he had scored 12 points at the time...hornets got waxed tonight which would of happened last night had anybody other than Kobe stepped up. Hornets got beat badly in NO by the Lakers so I guess the lakers expected the same again the other night.
hornets needed amazing games from Paul and West to get the win...yet were average tonight.

It was a back to back in Salt Lake City.

Kobe is a career 43% playoff shooter. He played out of his mind against the Spurs in the Playoffs last year shooting around 50%. He evened that baby out in the Finals though.
Sometimes a guy just shooting some shots will get them to go in a bit more on certain occassions.
Nothing personal.

hard to win when you let 5 guys get double figures (27, 20 15, 13, 10) and one of your best players (d. West) goes 4-14 with only 1 FT attempt
On the laker game, I doubt CP and get 32 pt and 15 asst while comiting 0 TO and West can get 40 points four times over a 7 game series

Kobe has the best FG% of any SG in the league right now, he's hovering around 48-50% which is definitely the best he's ever been. A lot of it is the byproduct of having great teammates that can spread the floor for him and force defenses to guard him straight up. He's also changed his shooting mechanics a little bit to get more arc on the ball, his jumper has been absolutely money these past 10-15 games.
The Spurs defense wasn't very good last year, which is why Kobe was able to torch them. Bowen can't guard him like he used to and the Spurs only had Udoka to back him up. That won't change this season.

Like JT the Brick said to his homo sidekick Looney...
Those 3 really win you championships.

The main problem the Spurs had last year were offensive droughts. Mason should help that.

The standings still show it as a "W" in the win column for the Hornets and a "L" for the Lakers in the loss column.
Lakers are a good team but they're not going to win them all. :hat

Kobe has slowed down also. Its obvious. Hes basically a jump shooter now. Bowen can guard Kobe in the playoffs.
It wouldnt suprise me if Kobe is basically on empty come playoff time. He has played basketball almost 2 years straight with no break. Bowen is still an elite defender. He knows Kobe very well.

Huh? Spurs are still having offensive droughts this year.

You know people are trying really hard to make excuses for the Lakers when the absence of Luke Walton and Jordan Farmer are the reasons they lost.

No he isn't.
He knows Kobe very well.
Maybe so but other than being dirty Bowen doesn't pose any threat to Kobe. Throughout the decade it was more the Spurts fantastic team defense that collectively did a good job on Kobe rather than Bowen himself.
Bowen would have been a nobody if it wasn't for Tim Duncan and Pop's system.
