We all know the familiar nicknames of the various Spurs players so I'm wondering if we can come up with a list of the less coomonly known names. For example, during a lull in the Spurs-Heat game, Eric Snow, a former teammate of Bruce Bowen called him "Potato Brain":lol in an affectionate manner. I have no idea what's behind this nickname though.

Dwayne "the Lobster" Schintzius. A reference to his mullet plumage. Seriously, I had a shirt with the nickname and a drawing of Dwayne with lobster hands on it. Good god, thank goodness we traded him for Antoine Carr. That's another one "the Big Dog".

Wilt "the Stilt" Chamberlain
He hated that name and prefered "The Big Dipper". He even named his home in Bel Air "Ursa Major". Life magazine had a great photoshoot of it in 1972, I have that magazine stored away. One of his dogs was named "Careem".
Other Lakers:
Zeke from Cabin Creek = Jerry West, AKA more commonly as Mr. Clutch.
Harold "Happy" Hairston
Francis "Chick" Hearn (The late great Laker broadcaster)
"Buck" This was Kareem's nickname for Earvin "Magic" Johnson, because he reminded him of a young buck with all of his rookie enthusiasm.
Cooooooooooooop: This is what Laker fans chanted at the Forum when Michael Cooper did well.
If I think of more and this thread is alive, I'll post them.

Walt "Clyde" Frazier, one of the all time greats. He got the nckname Clyde from all of the pimp outfits he used to wear, he certainly had a wide and expensive wardrobe, here's one:
http://www.fixins.com/blogtest/uploaded_images/puma_invite_sportie-760788.jpg
Clyde might have come from Bonnie and Clyde, played by Warren Beatty about this time.
Interesting read plus his catch phrases from Knick Broadcasts here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Frazier

Frazier currently works as a commentator alongside Mike Breen for MSG Network telecasts of Knicks games. He also worked with Breen previously on the radio broadcasts before his switch to television in 1997, and also worked on Knicks games with Marv Albert. He is known for catch phrases including:

He has been making commercials of late with Keith Hernandez for "Just for Me". They chime in together when a gray haired man gets spurned by a lady, "No play for Mr. Gray". You've all seen it.

"Clyde" Frazier = Dolemite of the NBA. Those quotes were classic. I didn't know about Wilt's aversion for "The Stilt", good to know. If you are a basketball fan in the slightest, ya gotta show that man some respect.

Lots of players with "Money" in their nicknames in that list.
IIRC, wasn't there a player with "Money in the Bank" as his nick?
Not unusual, but might as well add: Bryant "Big Country" Reeves.
