Assuming this is a deadpool sort of thing, I believe that like the passing of the equally historic John Adams and Thomas Jefferson on July 4, 1826, Swayze and C. Thomas Howell will both go on May 18, 2009; 25 years to the day of Red Dawn's release.

November 19th, 2009. I think that's Thanksgiving.

He's a good guy, but he has inoperable cancer. Basically a death sentence.

My dad had pancreatic cancer, as did my ex father-in-law. They both lived less than a year from diagnosis.

Pancreatic cancer. He was recently hospitalized with pneumonia.

Depressing thread. Thanks.

The difference between Swayze and most people with pancreatic cancer is that he can afford to fight.
He can afford the best doctors and any course of action they throw at him.

In the end, this might not save him from this cancer, but it may prolong his life past what many others have lived.

Did anyone watch the interview with Barbara Walters?

yes, he admitted that the cancer has spread to other organs. I think he said it was in his liver now.

Once it hits the liver, chemo/radiation might stave it off a bit, but that's usually the end stage.

My dad opted for no treatment and went 10 months without ever even feeling sick, didn't get tired, etc. But once the liver was involved, it went pretty fast and he was VERY sick for the last 2 weeks.
