He's the best QB in this draft class.

Really like him and hope that he somehow lands in Detroit.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Detroit would be stupid not to draft him.

i'm guessing Mustain will be the starter for the next 2 years, then Barkley.

IronMexican

Yup. I can't wait for Barkley. Mustain, not so much.

He wont have the leadership or connection with the WR's Mark had.

I'm surprised. I guess his decision was made when Oklahoma's Bradford elected to stay another year...he must have gotten positive responses from the scouts.....Hmmm...I thought he could use one more year of seasoning but best of luck to him.......hopefully he'll be drafted by a good team so he can develop instead of being thrown in the fire so to speak by GMS who think lightening will strike a third time (a la Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco).

How much of it is because of all the Arkansas controversy that brought him there?

i haven't seen anything that would back that statement.

shouldn't be a factor. who knows all the details anyway...?

I hear he is still undecided. It is Mortensen after all. I will wait for Shefter or Jay Glazer.

I don't get it either, I've seen it other places to. It's not like he sucks. #10 on Rivals coming out in a good class, #2 Pro Style QB behind Matt Stafford

He might as well. He's getting his degree and will be a top 5-10 pick. No reason to stay.

I still wish him the very best. UNLESS he winds up in a Chief jersey. If so, fuck him.

yeah, he saw firsthand Leinart's stock drop about 25 spots in the draft by staying the extra year.

No surprise at all.

either way

Taylor Potts > Mustain

Great news! It really opens the door for Oregon and Oregon State. The Beavs and Ducks are both going to have terrific teams next season.

IronMexican

Imagine if Barkley beats both out? He was the #1 rated QB in the nation in 08. Although, that's pipe dream.

I heard Petey Carroll was bitchy at his presser saying QBs in the draft are a "50-50" thing and that Mark "went against the grain with this decision". Ok Pete, we know you're pissed, but why go that route with your kid?

JamStone

Pete Carroll was a prick at the press conference. Sanchez is a first round pick. How is that a bad decision for him to leave? Add the fact that now it's clear that Bradford and Tebow didn't declare and Stafford is the only other first round QB, and it's a clearly good move, business wise for Sanchez. Carroll should have just said his panties are tight because now USC will likely be taking a step down at the QB position next year. All he did was hurt Sanchez' draft stock by claiming Sanchez isn't ready and is making a bad choice. What a prick.

IronMexican

He really wasn't ready. Good move for Sanchez, cause there could be a rookie cap. But football wise, bad move.

Detroit would be stupid not to draft him.

With the #1 overall?

You're insane if you think they should draft Sanchez with the #1 overall pick.

I still feel he has the most upside and will be a great QB in the NFL. He just could have came in so much more NFL ready. If the Lions are drafting a QB, Sanchez is the man. Of course I still feel Detroit should go OL.

i was surprised how Carroll acted at the press conference. he is an emotional guy and obviously close with his players. but still...

IronMexican

Yeah, that was definitely not Pete's most professional moment.
