COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) -- The SUV former Denver quarterback John Elway was given for being selected MVP of the 1999 Super Bowl has been recovered by sherriff's deputies.

The white 2000 Ford Expedition was stolen from the Coeur d'Alene airport in late August.

It was found Thursday afternoon at another location on the airport grounds, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department said.

There was no damage to the $35,700 vehicle and nothing was missing, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies speculated the vehicle might have been taken for a joy ride from Elway's jet hanger and left on the other side of the airport.

``Pending any further leads, the case will be inactivated at this time,'' the sheriff's office said.

Elway, who has a vacation home on Lake Coeur d'Alene, and his employees used the vehicle.

It was stolen around Aug. 23, after pilot Sid Jelsma left it inside a fence that surrounds the hanger and flew out, according to the theft report.

The keys were inside the unlocked truck because it was assumed thieves could not reach it, the report said.

But the thief apparently scaled the fence and drove the truck away, because the fence gate opens automatically from the inside, according to the report.

The vehicle contains no special markings indicating it belongs to Elway or was a Super Bowl prize.
