NEW YORK - A US Airways passenger jet taking off from La Guardia airport in New York en route to Charlotte, N.C., crashed into the Hudson River on Thursday.
WNBC's Tim Minton quoted a governmnet source as saying that the pilot may have hit a flock of geese.
The plane is an Airbus A320. NBC News identified it as Flight 1549, which departed at 3:20 p.m. ET with about 145 passengers and five crew members aboard. It was a scheduled flight to the Charlotte-Douglas, N.C., airport.

And they've cleared the geese from having any terrorist ties :lol
Seriously tho - it's incredible that the pilot was able to ditch that plane without it breaking up and they were able to get everyone off and there were no serious injuries.

While I agree with you I do want to point out that how an airplane crashes should not be a prime indicator of its performance. :lol

You know, I'm glad everyone is allright and all, but the media just overdoes it. I mean, I have heard in the past 30 minutes everything from a guy that was on standby for that flight to the biography of the pilot, along with the new 'hero of flight 1549' shtick. You keep on changing channels and it's the same shit.

Later stories said that wasn't actually true. Sorry.
A guy who was one of the last passengers off the plane helped a woman who was still on the plane with him. Also, another passenger admitted that people were jumping over seats and doing whatever they could to get to the exit first.

Here's a similar incident, but my understanding is the plane caught birds in both engines!

Except that the NYT Gossip Rag rarely knows the truth. Bird incidents with planes are not on the rise. They simply happen from time to time.

No Shit Sherlock.
It's just almost exactly the same story the NYT had! I mentioned that because they are the leader in propaganda that others follow.
Most stories are from the same sources.
