I usually watch TBS alot when im not watching NBA basketball, the shows are pretty good imho except for this one show called "House of Payne". This has to be one of the most horrible shows i've ever seen. Its just so stupid, the show just Epicly Fails at funny. And worst of all when I first saw the show a couple of months ago I thought : "This show will probably get cancelled soon". But to my suprise TBS still refuses to cancel this show, WTF?! And worst of all TBS put another similar show on now called "Meet the Browns", which is even worse than house of payne. The worst part is that TBS"s motto is "Very Funny". God those guys FAIL at funny. If you think I'm exaggerating watch one of these shows and tell me what you think of it.

Tyler Perry is beloved by black church folk. It's a niche audience, but he has a lock on it and he makes money on everything he does. Just switch to HBO comedy and watch Curb instead. I've heard it's pretty good.

Tyler Perry is not funny (that includes his movies too). He must have something on someone.

I watch a lot of re runs on TBS. like The Office, Seinfeld, King of Queens, Raymond. But, after watching half an episode of house of pain, I will never watch it again.

Among African-American adults age 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, House of Payne is the No. 1 show in all of network prime, all of cable and all of syndication

“If you want to reach 7.1% of the African American audience among adults 18-49, you can do that. And you can buy House of Payne for a lot less than CSI,” which ties for sixth in that demographic, says Bob Cesa, Twentieth's executive VP of ad sales. “There's no doubt that House of Payne is a screaming deal.”

That's about all anyone needs to know.

As long as my cracker ass brothers and sisters are helping Dane friggin' Cook sell out arenas around the country, we honkeys have no right to criticize Tyler Perry.

seems easier just to say 18-54

seems easier just to say 18-54I think the article cites a few different demographic studies.

Never seen either show. but it just goes to show The Dumbing Down of America...America has always watched dumb shows.

If dane cook had countless promos broadcasting his shitty nonfunniness that would work. But in this year alone i've seen one dane cook promo and at least 20 promos for that perry crap.

That article says that African Americans also like Maury, which makes me wonder why they can't even say Maury if they like him so much.

I watched House Of Payne once, it was so-so, nothing I've ever wanted to watch again.

Why do African Americans like the show but everyone else thinks it blows?

I was going to do the very un-scientific "all my black friends love it!" comment, but I'm glad Chump backed me up with some studies...:lol

I've seen one episode of House of Payne and wondered why it wasn't on the CW with all the other "black" comedies like "Girlfriends" and "Everyone Hates Chris."

But this was also a day after I returned from ACORN's national convention, and a combined 48 hours on a charter bus of 50 where I was one of two white people and 40 were black. So.

By a fluke (after a basketball game) I've seen an episode of "The House of Payne". I've never seen anything else by Tyler Perry. The show was not funny, but in spite of how the ads push it, I don't think it's supposed to be 100% comedy. The episode I saw was about some real issues; maybe it's a "dramedy"?

Has to be one of the dumbest shows I have ever seen.

The comedy bits made me ask "seriously?" as if people actually find this stuff funny must have a 2nd grade education at best.

So i think we've clearly established that most of us are not the demographic that this show is targeting.

TBS should stick to Family Guy and The Office marathons...
