View Full Version : Could the NBA refs be any worse?

No I don't care that the Lakers are probably going to lose to the Magic, but the referring has been absolutely abysmal this season. The refs should RARELY be the ones deciding games yet it seems like every week we have some idiotic calls that end up deciding the games.

Lakers and Celtics fans should be the last one to complain about the officiating and refs in general. some of the calls in favor of these two teams are unreal:pctoss.

This has to be a joke, right?

Gasol pushed Howard on the FT rebound 3 times, was called for the foul once
Odom had an offensive foul on Lewis but went to the line instead
Nelson didn't double dribble, Fisher touched the ball

On top of this the Magic missed 5 FTs late and were making stupid mistakes (turned the ball over after securing the rebound 2-3 times in the 4th quarter, failing to secure easy rebounds which had Ron Jeremy throwing a fit etc)

All that, and they beat the Lakers on the road. And Laker fan is bitching about it?

House, wasn't it you who said something like "the Spurs caught every break but still won by only 1 point at home, no way they can beat the Lakers in a 7-gamer".

So when are you gonna say "Lakers caught every break but still lost at home, no way they can beat the Magic in a series"?

See the refs helped the Lakers out big time and yet their fans are complaining:lol. The magic fans are the ones who should be complaining about the refs.

Subpar officiating, but I also share the opinion that Orlando has more reasons to complain. No big deal though.

I think there were terrible calls on both sides. It does seem as though the officiating is getting a lot worse. However, if you don't let yourself get in the position where it can hurt you in a clutch moment, then it's a moot point.

First off, Laker fans should't complain much about refereeing. Rarely do they get the short stick.

However, there is a problem in the NBA with officiating. Rules are very subjective, and change from night to night. It's still not clear what constitutes a foul and what doesn't. Especially with the no-hand-check rule that the NBA has put on, it makes guarding some of the elite perimeter players impossible if the rules are not consistent.

Laker fans should know, in those games where Kobe shoots 15+ FTs.

yes they could. they haven't called games with pompoms wearing laker cheerleader outfits.

The refs are always retarded, usually the most when playing your team.

It WAS pretty funny when ESPN pointed out 3 horrible calls that happened in about 30 seconds of game time.

I doubt you'd be crying of Jameer Nelson would've have splooged all over the Laker's lips.
