Those Steelers were far better than this year's Steelers.

If Pitt wins the SB, they might as well send a ring to Bernard Pollard and name him Super Bowl MVP, because he's the only reason Pittsburgh didn't get their teeth kicked in by Tom Brady in the playoffs yet again.

QFT.

Pittsburgh is an overrated team. Polamalu only has an NFL contract because of the hair. Prove me wrong.

2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Also, eventhough they had a tremendous defense, the 1999 Baltimore Ravens were not that great.

That Bucs D was stout. They finished like 12-4, so Idk how that's overrated. Definitely the 2001-02 Pats. Oakland lost their last 3 games to finish with the #3 seed, and refs did the rest for that team.

Hard to call a team that ended that Rams team's season weak.

They got hot at the right time + getting away with everything they wanted. It was way too obvious to me. 9/11 had happened months earlier. America was in need of a feel good story, and what better than a team with the colors red, white, and blue named the Patriots. No other fucking way that wasn't a fumble.

You can argue that a lot of SB winning teams got hot at the right time.... If the Cardinals win this year, that's four SB winners in a row that came out of the wild card weekend and got hot at the right time.

Yup. The Pats had no business winning that SB but they did.....with a lot of help from the Smoking Man in the Shadows with the Top Secret manilla folder.

It wasn't about helping out the Patriots, it was about fucking over the Raiders.

I wouldn't be suprised. I've always felt there was a vendetta against the Raiders. I have no idea why Tagliabue would carry out Rossel's orders.

1. cassel is tom brady, he is the exact replica of tom he is in the same system as tom, cassel is tom from '01, and he is begining to prove that it is not toms talent thats winning games, its the patriots system.

2. Tom brady will never see a SB again, ever in his career. on the other hand give ben 5 more years and u may just see 4 rings on his hand. O and they would be ligit, and not in question by every one, u know with the pats hole cheating thing.

After what they did to the Patriots in the AFC Championship game, no way I could call that team weak.

I don't see how you can say the 2006 Colts were a weak team after the way that defense dominated... They held every opponent other than the Bears under 100 yards rushing and stopped the Patriots from further building on an 18 point lead en-route to the largest comeback in conference championship game history. I don't believe they trailed in any other game besides the first quarter of the Super Bowl.

They gave up all-time rushing yards in the regular season, but Sanders missed nearly all of that season. 2005 Steelers was a much weaker team, and they won that Super Bowl with a lot of help from sketchy officiating that went their way, same with the Tuck Rule Patriots team.

Agreed, the 2005 Steelers benefited from some horrendous officiating against the Seahawks in the Superbowl. It reminded me of the 2002 Lakers-Kings playoff series....

2001 Patriots

Didn't they change the way defensive holding was interpreted after that Super Bowl?

First, no it wasn't the 2001 Patriots.

Second, the "rule change" came because of Pats vs. Colts in an AFC Divisional Round game.

Third, there was no change in the way a rule was interpreted, they just put a bigger emphasis on flagging contact after 5 yards.

Fourth, sorry the Chargers can't even be mentioned in this thread.

Fifth, thanks for showing once again that you're an idiot.

actually my vote goes to the 05 Steelers, 2nd will be the 08 Cards, they really need to cut the divisions from 8 to 4 and only send 8 teams to the playoffs,
division championship > conference championship > league championship
