The real question is who will be #1, UTSA or Texas State?

doobs

Stanford may be top 3

This is only for football. Stanford is #45.

Overall, though, I would say Stanford and UT are the top two sports universities.

ah.

then it would seem to me that:

Notre Dame, USC, OU, UT, Mich, Ohio St, Tennessee, Florida, Penn St, Fla St, Bama, braska and Miami all have arguments to be in the top ten

UTSA will be #1 in two years after our football program starts, three years max.

We're going to hire John Gruden as our HC and we will shock the world.

I mean, who gives a damn if no one bothers to come to our basketball or baseball games. Somehow, we're going to be pulling UTSA fans out of a vortex from outer space and we will fill the stadium that will be built soon that sits 100,000 fans.

UT Austin will be a memory.

I work at the library, and I can stand it pretty well.

It's actually nice here.

What I can't stand are UTSA gayboys talking about how glorious a startup football team will be.

That's just pathetic.

Guys like you and your boytoy bleedsorangefromhisass that like to watch men run around in tightly fitted athletic clothing are indeed gay.

Flaming gay.

But, a librarian who would rather invest in academics over football program that will take well over a decade to produce any kind of result is actually . . . well, intelligent.

And, to make a point, football is my favorite sport. If you ever spend anytime on the NFL Forum here on ST, you'd know that.

But, you never post there, which only confirms the fact that you want a football team here at UTSA so you could jack off under the bleechers to all those hunky men you always fantasize about.

You are the single one my man................... You therefore are the gay one. I actually married a woman and have children. You are the lonely gay librarian. That is why you hate football at Utsa so much. The football players at your former HS, and college probably kicked your ass all the time. Sorry, but you lose.

alot of Alabama's National Championships are bullshit though. They claim titles if the Tuscaloosa Newspaper ranked them #1. They are so low becuase of having no Heisman winners

That is why I think it will be

1/2 USC/Notre Dame
3 Ohio State
4 Nebraska
5 Oklahoma

Since this is a most "prestigious" list, they should have counted off more for infractions.

Prestigious - 2. having a high reputation; honored; esteemed:

OU is hardly that as the are at the top for violations.

Yes Texas is not that good, yet still made it all the way to #7. Only 40 points behind Alabam who has an extra 75 points from 3 more MNC.

Ya Texas sucks so bad historically, you take away the 100 points from MNCs and they are still ahead of Michigan.

The Oklahoma program also has been punished by the NCAA to varying degrees six separate times in its history.

There were lots of variables for when a school was handed penalties by the NCAA for infractions. Those penalties were graded as such:
Each year of television ban: minus-1
Each year of postseason ban: minus-2
Each year of overall probation: minus-1
Each year of financial-aid penalty: minus-1
Each year of recruiting penalties: minus-1
Each penalty of "show cause action:" minus-2

So basically just one of their BCS losses, since getting a berth is worth ten points, covers all their violations.

Holmes_Fans
01-30-2009, 11:08 AM
They should have made the penalty for violations a lot harsher. It's a poll of the most prestigious program, if year after year you are constantly on probation it's hard to say you are prestigious

CubanMustGo
01-30-2009, 11:51 AM
The penalties should be 10x (-10 for TV ban, -20 for postseason ban, etc.).

j-6

The penalties should be 10x (-10 for TV ban, -20 for postseason ban, etc.).

It's just someone's bullshit ratings system, and Texas got 7th despite going 35 years between titles. It's just a strange list - Michigan 8th, Florida 15th. I guess that happens when you weigh 1936 on equal ground as 2006.

They should have called it ''most successful'' and not ''most prestigious'' if the penalties for punishment are so light.
