Down 64-58 at half, Bucks shoot 15/18 in 2nd quarter and outscore Mavs 42-26.

That was a nice by Terry to end the half.

Mavs are all-time 5-22 @ MIL...Mavs fans shouldnt expect anything else other than a lose tonight. Bucks play like the 96 Bulls when the Mavs come to town

Ghazi

Ugh, although unrelated events, Kidd gets a rebound, passes to Howard who dribbles up court and chucks a midrange jumper rather than setting up the offense. Bucks proceed to score the next 9 points. Mavs down 76-67.

When the Mavs battle back to tie a game, their defense isnt strong enough to sustain the run and they proceed to get back in the same hole bc of their porus D

Brickhouse

Redd for Howard

sribb43
01-21-2009, 09:41 PM
I guess the Mavs didnt get the scouting report that Redd can shoot

Brickhouse

Can I laugh yet? Or will Ghazi's feelings get hurt and tell me "it is expected"

The shitty Bucks average 97 a game and have 92 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd, and this is without Bogut

Ugh, theyre gonna get 100 before the 4th even starts.

This defense makes me vexed. This is the Nets game all over again.

Are we playing the Bucks or the 05 Suns?

Look at the bright side, Phoenix is 18 seconds away from losing to the Knicks.

Ghazi

Rare night where the mavs have a SHITLOAD of free throws too... apparently all for not.

I will say it hasn't beena layup/dunk drill for the Bucks, they've just had plenty of open perimeter looks and have knocked them down. Content w/ jump shots but get a HAND in that face.

Ghazi
01-21-2009, 10:01 PM
I can't believe it, Bucks 79 points in 2nd and 3rd quarters combined. That's truly inexcusable.

Brickhouse
01-21-2009, 10:02 PM
Dirk 17 ftas? Holy DWade.

Ghazi
01-21-2009, 10:04 PM
Yeah, 37 free throws for the Mavs.

to have 37 FTA's after 3 and be down 18... God :(

Ghazi

Wow Mavs loss by 30+ points..sad..

Ghazi
01-21-2009, 10:44 PM
I believe the Mavs biggest lead was 12, and the Bucks biggest lead was 37... so that's a stretch of less than 35 minutes where the Mavs were outscored by 49 points.... wow.

Putting up 30 in the first quarter? Promising ....

Get to the line 39 times? Impressive ...

45% from beyond the arc while turning it over only 7 times? Amazing ...

Get shat on by Charlie Villanueva as a Bogut-less Bucks stomp you by 34 ... Priceless!

No way of stopping the Bucks the way they were playing and shooting. But the Mavs have some serious problems and I don't see an easy way to fix them.

I'll write about the Mavs one of these days. One of the most interesting situations in the NBA, if not the most interesting one. I think Cuban has to consider making some heart-breaking decisions - and dealing the bonehead doesn't qualify as one.

Unfortunately, its to the point now where the bonehead has little trade value.

Expect Cubes to be extremely pissed and hurt emotionally thus prompting a trade. Remember the Philly game last season when the Mavs only scored 7 points in the 4th? Thats when the Kidd dealwas highly discussed

So Rick Carlisle won't play Gerald Green because he is teh suck at defense.

Hey Rick, dumbass, your entire fucking team sucks at defense.

I have to say, I'm really shocked at how poorly the Mavs have played this year.

A regression seemed likely, but in this fashion? 5 losses by 19+ points this year I believe... we didn't ahve 5 losses by 19+ all of last year.

I guess the 5-12 record or so against +.500 teams isn't that shocking, it's pretty consistent with how we played v good teams last year after the kidd trade... but still.

A BELOW average defense? I thought we'd hover around average or slightly above average atleast. We finished 7th or 8th last year I believe

12th in offense? Ugh, 2nd through 50 games last year.

I guess a year can make THAT big a difference in the NBA, but I didn't see it coming.

Trading Kidd, JET, and Howard should be a must before the trade deadline.

Tank the season, rebuild, and get ready to roll the dice on 2010. Let Dirk fake an injury the rest of the year and half of next season, keep his knees nice and rested until a 2010 running mate comes to town.

If the 2010 plan fails, who gives a fuck? We're not winning a championship any other way as it is. Be really bad or really good, none of this mediocre shit.

The Mavs give up 133 points after they traded Bill Russell, I mean Gana Diop....

Ghazi
01-21-2009, 11:17 PM
^ ugh, it actually makes sense to a degree, but I'd be so frustrated waiting 1.5 years only to NOT hit gold in the 2010 FA class, lulz.

Brickhouse
01-21-2009, 11:24 PM
Mavs right now is a piece of turd. It needs to be flushed, not polished. (An apt analogy I read)

They aren't hitting the jackpot in 2010, they need to start over as soon as possible. Only trading JHo is not enough.

How about tank this season and get in the lottery.

Surely your first round draft pick is lottery protected???

I think they get this year's pick no matter what.

Next year's pick is going to the Nets unprotected, though. That one could really hurt.

I think Rick barry said if the Mavs traded for Kidd they would miss the playoffs within 2 years. I thought it was impossible for such to occur, but now it seems VERY realistic! :(

sad days IN MAVS land folks.
