I don't think we can win it this year as is and Manu is the only player on the team that's worth something and not worth everything.

So what could we possibly get for him?

Maybe. If Manu doesn't get his mojo back, but how big is Diaw?

We can't trade TP!

We'd really look bad after that trade.

There's Manu stuff in there too, it's a general trade ideas thread.

Seriously, why do I keep hearing trade Manu?...Have you people not noticed how he is always there in close games. Hitting clutch free-throws, iceing the game for us. Time after time, and all we hear is bullshit like this?....You all need to appreciate Manu a little bit more, if it wasn't for him a few Championship banners might not be hanging in the rafters of the AT&T center...We are not in last place here, so stop worrying ?...Because in the playoff, you can never count the SPURS out..Especially with a heathy big 3. So Lakers watch your backs?.....:lobt::lobt::lobt::lobt::lobt2::flag:

You can get T-Mac. Now there ya go, they both suck now. That's a fair trade.

In our championship years, Manu's penetration off the high pick-n-roll was was damn near unguardable. It'd either yield a high percentage shot at the rim or an open 3 for our shooters. Which is why this was the play most frequently run by Pop in the 4th quarter.

This year, he's a step slower and isn't always able to get a high % shot. Moreover, he turns it over way too much. The good games that Manu has had this season have almost always involved him shooting well from the outside; he doesn't have that unstoppable drive to the basket anymore.

If he gets that spring back in his step and is able to destroy defenses off the dribble, we are a contender. If not, we are at best conference finalists. In the latter scenario, I'd trade him for an athletic big or a younger swingman along with a 1st round pick.

I'm not sure about that. I have a feeling he's trying to protect his body a bit and save himself for the playoffs. I still see him exhibit a lot of speed at times, so I think he can still do it, he's just holding back. Maybe wishful thinking, but I'll wait til the playoffs to decide.
