This trade is as stupid as it gets. I thought Mavs already had Kidd and Terry.

I don't even see why the Mavs would agree to it.

So Dirk can opt out after one season and rejoin the Mavericks on a vet min. contract? No thanks.

Even if I knew that wasn't going to happen, I wouldn't do it. Two star players for one who would take time to get used to our system anyway. And Tony's only 26.

Dirk is a HOF player, and can be the shooting big, moving TD to center. Bass can man the paint when those two go to the bench. Hill and Mason can start, just like when Parker was younger and took over for AJ/AD.

Making trades to "shake things up" worked out SO well for the Suns and Mavs last season.

It would deserve a debate if spurs offer them for stuckhouse and josh howard and fillers, or even for josh and terry.

NO WAY should we trade Dirk for those TP and Manu.

Nice joke. How mentally retarded are you really? Dirk is in my opinion is not and will never be a player like manu. To understand it look at the championships Dallas has won with him.

Or in your case, you're just insanely stupid.

You want to trade two guys, one with a Finals MVP, the other arguably should have had one, for a choke artist German jump shooter and a quick version of Kurt Thomas.

Although I am a mavs fan and don't like spurs too much, I still don't think Manu and T Parker are vagina and garbage. They don't deserve it.

The only player that deserves that honour is just Tracy McGrady who is the No.1 of the rockets team. :lmao

Fuck averages. You apparently missed the NBA Finals a few years back.

Haha I actually did b/c I didn't really watch after Spurs lost due to Manu's gaff. But that Heat team they faced was actually pretty decent -- they had Shaq, DWade, GP (I think), Zo, Haslem, Posey...so I wouldn't put that entire series loss on Dirk. I would actually put some blame on AJ for not making adjustments to DWade's superman act.

But if you do want to compare recent playoff stuggles, we can just go back to last year when Manu did his own disappearing act...injury or not that was not clutch at all.

Of course, when making a trade, you want to sell high, and Manu isn't that high right now. But, when he is high, no one wants to deal him. I just don't see us winning against the Lakers with our current cast, considering they have so many players to slow Manu. Sho would they use to guard Dirk? Odom? We'd have a three point parade.

I also think putting our faith in Hill as The Man wouldn't be too bad of a proposition when we still would have Mason to spell him at times. I don't even want to go the Vaughn route but he would still be on the roster. I really think this trade, even though we give up a lot, would make us pretty formidable up front (necessary to beat the best in the West). I think we can take some risk considering how well Mason and Hill stepped up when we needed them earlier in the season.

Look at minutes played per game and fg attemps per game.

Can you say championships.

potential starting 5:
PG-Tony Parker
SG- Micheal Finley or Mason
SF- J.R. Smith
PF- Keynon Martin
C-Tim Duncan

Dirk played 12 more minutes per game. When you look at the actual FG% and 3P%, they're head to head. Obviously Dirk has better rebounding considering he's 7 feet tall and he plays PF.
