according to the Arizona Republic:

San Antonio has won 29 consecutive games when scoring 100 points.

:wow

More gems from the same article - Grant Hill: "It seems like San Antonio and Minnesota are our two nemeses." Good to know we're up there on the same level with Minnesota. :lol

Steve Nash: "We were outplayed tonight by a team that's better than us." What? A Phx player admitting they got beat by a better team? Props.

It was still the defense that helped the spurs win those games. Warriors score 100+pts per game on average but still stay beyond the playoff range. It's unthinkable if the spurs give up their tough defense for "scoring 100 points".

Arizona Republic for sure should find some excuse for their domestic team to disguise their flaws, although the press and suns both know clearly it's not good for their team's construction, or their re-construction which is right around the corner. That's why we mavs fans have never complained to spurs fans when they reveal the flaws of mavs, most of them just genuinely hope to help us a little bit instead of maliciously mocking us.

One thing PHX doesnt do very well is incorporate their young talent. If they had any organization in their system, they would use November and December to play with their lineups, minimize the minutes of Nash, Shaq, and Hill, while getting their young talent much needed game time exposure.

Then, after the all-star break, get a set 8-9 man rotation and ride it into the playoffs. If the youngins have earned playing time, awesome.....if not, just sit their butts down and let them watch and learn.

The defense stepped up when it needed to late in the 4th. The Spurs made a couple of bonehead plays to let the Suns back in it with under two minutes to go, but the DEFENSE stepped up.

that actually proves the point that defense wins. if the spurs weren't a good defensive team, they would have to score a lot more than 100 points to have a stellar record at an arbitrarily chosen cutoff.

Correct. If you were trying to say that a team is a good offensive team, you would point to how good their record was when they gave up 100 points.
