View Full Version : Who's not gonna make it?

Right now, there's 9 very good teams in the west vying for 8 playoff spots, and 8 out of 9 have jockeyed around for the #2-8 seeds for several months.

Obviously, one team's not gonna make it. Will it be Utah or Houston, who are injury stricken? Will it be the Mavs or Phoenix who seem to have lost their identity? Will it be the Hornets and the Spurs who have played inconsistently?
Or it will be the new kid on the block, Portland?

I've included the Lakers in the mix cause technically they could still fall but they're the only one I think is safe enough to say they're in...but I don't think they're good enough to say they're the definitive West champs.

I hope the Suns don't make it. Draft lottery beats the hell out of losing in the first round.

I'd rather have the 14th pick in the draft than get swept by the Lake Show

Think positive, man. The Mavs have the chance to do to the Lakers what Golden State did to the Mavs!

The Suns are out. Clearly that team is not what it used to be.

What's wrong with Utah? Is boozer injured? That team is almost always in the middle of the pack in the west.

I voted Lakers. It's only a matter of time before those bullshit jumpers stop falling. SD, come back!

I agree, we would be a pretty dangerous 8th seed with all the playoff experience we have, but i still dont think we'd beat the Lakers.

I'm tired of first round exits, i'd rather see the rockes in the lottery, and pick some real talent, they already screwed up with one #1 pick

Agreed. I couldn't even fathom another series against the Spurs.

Screw that! I'd rather watch 86 Mavs games than 82! 14th picks hardly ever are difference makers.

I voted for Suns, but it's really hard to say. I think Utah will make it. Dallas is iffy. Houston will be fine.

Definately gonna be the Jazz now. But New Orleans is slipping.

I love these threads. Everyone just picks the 8th or 9th seed. A few weeks ago it was the Mavs, now it's the Jazz and Suns.

I'm sticking with my original prediction, as stated in the first two weeks of the season. Sons, Houston isn't making the playoffs.

Im gonna go with the Jazz. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the Mavs, Suns, or Rockets either.

If CP3's injury is serious, you have to consider that the Hornets are a possibility as well. They look like a .400 or .300 basketball team without Paul.

Blazers meh, I thought it was a possibility that they could fade down the stretch but they've put themselves in a position where they could probably play .500 ball down the stretch and still get in, and they're better than .500.

Nuggets Spurs and Lakers seem like locks.

even though houston, utah and new orleans have health issues, dallas and phoenix having chemistry problems - i'm picking portland to miss the playoffs just to spite tlong. :p:

Blazers, deffinitely. The only thing they have a chance winning is the lottery.

Here's a shocker... the Hornets might be in for some real trouble.

With CP3 a bit injured, they need other guys to step up...but as CP3 goes, so do the Hornets. They've been playing injured and in a funk lately.

Add in Jazz & Suns as the other two teams looking jacked up right now. Jazz having problems is understandable due to injuries and stuff, but the Suns are just F'd up for no particular reason.

All the other Western teams are hitting their midseason stride, even the Mavs.
