Bynum was playing really well before he was injured last year.

fwiw oden's last 5 haven't been bad either. IF IF IF IF IF IF he can stay healthy then he will turn out to be a top notch player.

16.4 ppg on 66% shooting

11.4 rpg with 5.8 offensive rpg

.6 apg to 2 turnovers a game

and 1.6 steals and 1.4 blocks per game.

both guys teams have been 4-1 over that stretch

Those numbers are pedestrian compared to Bynum's though

pedestrian? rofl you act like every center in the league is playing better than a double double a game and leading the league in offensive reb per game over the last 5.

Oden is Emeka Okafor 2.0 ... now with less leaping ability.

bynum's numbers are pedestrian compared to manu's. not even kobe has ever had a stretch this good:

By Elias Sports Bureau (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dime-080225)
Heading into Monday's game with Atlanta, San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili has been on a tear. Ginobili, over his last five games, has now scored 172 points, while making 55 of 86 field-goal attempts (64 percent). Only one NBA player since the year 2000 has scored as many points with as high a shooting percentage over any five-game span -- Shaquille O'Neal. With the Lakers in March 2002, O'Neal had a five-game stretch in which he scored 177 points while shooting 69.5 percent from the floor. That's it.

By the way, prior to Shaq, you have to go back to 1996 to find the last such instance of a player scoring and shooting as well as Ginobili over a period of five games. (Hakeem Olajuwon had 172 points and a 65 percent shooting stretch over a five-game span late in the 1995-96 season.)

Hakeem > Shaq > Manu > anyone on the lakers

This is Oden's first season playing in the NBA. Bynum has already had 3 behind him. Tough to compare them. Plus there are some other young centers in the league, who could also reach high levels if they keep working, Biedrins and Nene come to mind. Also, Al Jefferson is already a better scorer than any of them will ever be.

Yeah, I've been very happy with Drew this month. He hit a dry patch at the end of December, but it's been all good this month. Keep it up, Drew. Prove the nay sayers(including myself. I wanted to trade him for Kidd.) wrong.

Bynum has more upside but Oden will be good if healthy ...my prediction ...
1.Howard
2.Bynum
3.Yao
4.Oden
2 years from now as best centers in NBA

Oden went to College (where he played more than Bynum did in his rookie season).

But ok you can have that point even though Oden's only 4 months younger. :lol

Bynums has been very impressive lately. Look forward to both oden and bynum going at it in the future as long as they both are healthy.

Oden's 1 year in college (where he was injured for a great part of it) is nothing compared to Bynum's experience.

With that said though, this isn't even an argument, I think most NBA GM's would take Bynum over Greg.
