He may not be who i prefer, but shit he is 7 foot, practiced with dwight, and with urgency of getting a quality big for THIS YEAR i think is a great move by the organization imo. Now this is not considering how much they are paying him and for how long.

If the article was talking about 30m/5yrs they are talking about after the season, and I doubt the Spurs would pay him that. He's great for his current salary, at 30m/5yrs he'd be in Jim McIlvaine territory. We can do better for the full MLE.

Nothing. He has played very little and has shown nothing that suggests that he is much more than a off the bench big man. I wouldn't do more than 10 million/4 years...maybe with a player option on the 4 year.

I think Gortat is worth Oberto`s contract, which is 3,6 mln per year. I would give him 11mln/4 years, with some option for last year.
