Kobe went for a layup, missed, fell onto Bynum's knee..it didn't look too bad, but then you see Bynum on the ground screaming and moaning..he was helped off the court, but he was noticeably limping and had a lot of pain on his face..
against Memphis..again..

Hartman is moving to 710? Good cause his new show sucks. Too bad for Vick but he's way too much of a homer. I'm sure he'll find some job with the Lakers. And Hartman wasn't always a hater, I remember him from the 690 days. He does a lot of it for ratings.

Yes it's all about the MRI, but I doubt they can do it tonight. Should be way too much swelling. If there isn't that much swelling and they can do it tonight then that's also a good sign. But yeah the MRI will tell everything.

that doesn't mean anything. When I tore my ACL it hurt really bad at first and I could walk on it and stuff, but I couldn't run or it would hurt. I actually didn't even know I did it until a week later, I just thought it was a sprain but never appeared to get better. I thought I could just walk it off and it would go away. A sprain actually hurts more than when you tear your ACL because the pain somewhat stops because it's not attached to anything- when you sprain it it's still attached to all the moving parts of your knee so it keeps agitating it. If he says he feels fine and can walk on it, it could very well be a ACL tear.

I should clarify that I am neither a doctor or did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express...but I tore my ACL skiing a couple years back. It hurts more than anything the moment it happens, but the pain slowly dies town. Imagine stobing your finger really bad- it's like that on your knee, but it just hurts and feels funny when you try running. I was also unable to ski because I couldn't put the right amount of pressure on it without pain. Michael Redd tore his last week and he was able to walk off the court fine
I also want him to play because I wanted to yell at him next Sunday. I have seats in the 7th row

I don't like bynum running his mouth, I did not like the elbow shot he gave recently, I don't like many of the laker-fan arrogance, I did not like some of the lakers fans making fun of the rocket injuries--BUT, I still feel bad for the kid.

that doesn't mean anything.
I agree. The MRI will say all. But it is encouraging that it didn't hurt as much as last year and that he didn't hear a pop. It's all speculation and hope till the MRI tomorrow.

Meh. Injuries like these happen all the time and can change the course of a career (Penny Hardaway & Grant Hill) or a team's season ('03 Sacramento Kings & '00 S.A. Spurs), so I feel pretty indifferent about it. I just wish people would've shown this level of concern about a guy nearly losing a lung and being having a life-threatening injury on the court.

I agree with you on that and I will add to this by saying back in '00 Lakerfans rejoiced when Duncan tore his acl on the message boards. It is because of that moment alone I never feel bad for them whenever something like this happens to their team. Fans of opposing teams don't give a shit when your top player gets hurt and vice versa. If one of the spurs big 3 gets hurt you can bet rival fans will take delight in knowing they don't have to deal with the spurs at top strenght.
i hope Bynums career is over

There have been some AFL players in Australia who tear ACL's and continue to play, but some others just come straight off and are on crutches within the hour.

Bynum was really balling and this does suck if he is really hurt. I am a Spurs fan, but I am also a basketball fan, and Bynum is a good player for the league. Hopefully nothing too serious.

btw, IBM announced a couple weeks that their scientists (does Microsoft have "basic" scientists?) have made a huge leap in MRI resolution,
I don't know whether, and can't see how from the PR, it will be used on humans for diagnostic imaging.

Read on CL that results should be out at 3 EST. More than enough time before the Super Bowl.

Kobe went for a layup, missed, fell onto Bynum's knee..it didn't look too bad, but then you see Bynum on the ground screaming and moaning..he was helped off the court, but he was noticeably limping and had a lot of pain on his face..
against Memphis..again..

I stopped reading this thread on the 2nd page. Their young franchise center goes down with a potentially very serious injury and Lakers fans direct their first thoughts to... Boston.
