You guys can make a pitch for Jermaine O'Neal using Odom as the main piece in return.

Watch out if they don't end up getting Al Jefferson

The Suns and Magic in a LSD trip would not make those trades. They can get better then Mbenga and Odom for Amare and Dwight.

NEW YORK — Andrew Bynum had an MRI on his injured right knee this morning, but the Lakers don’t expect to have word on the results until this evening or Monday.
New York-based David Altcheck, who performed the surgery on Bynum’s left knee last May, was on a plane en route back to New York to read the results.

The Lakers had a brief practice today; Phil Jackson excused himself, Kobe Bryant (who showed up anyway), Derek Fisher and Pau Gasol.
Still more waiting...could be later today or early monday.

Yeah, you got to love that. Oh well. I was hoping to get this news before the super Bowl. I hope I can log on later to and get some great news.

I need him for my fantasy team, he is better than Dwight Howard recently.

that trade isnt as lopsided as we first thought.

Pau was often injured the last few years. He had a big contract and needed to go. The Grizzlies got Marc Gasol, who has played well for them. They also got a few salaries they could dump, and draft picks.

Marc Gasol
Darrell Arthur
Rudy Gay
OJ Mayo
Mike Conley
Hakim Warrick
Kyle Lowry
Quintin Ross

This is a young, but very talented line-up. Now they need to get 2-3 solid vets. If Darius Miles is actually healthy, maybe he can become a quality contributor off the bench for the next few years.....if not, he retires and they merely find someone else. Also, hopefully for them Milicic can stay healthy and become an 8 pt, 6-8 rb, 2 blk guy off the bench.

that stuff only works when your dealing with the Grizz and Marc Gasol is not involved.

Agreed.

I'll go as far as to say they are better right now as they were with P.Gasol this time last year.

laker fans need to chill.

1 we dont know how bad bynums knee was injured yet
2 we have depth at the 4 and 5 so no need to make a panic move
3 lakers made it to the finals without bynum last year and with the same squad, they can do it again.

Besides Pau and Drew, who do you got? I really don't think of Odom as true big man.

he is a 4. chris mihm hasnt played but is fully recoverd from his ankle issues and was a productive starting center when he has had playing time. josh powell is effective when he plays also. if pau and lamar plays 40 minutes a game, you only need 5-8 minutes from those guys.

no one is going to do it. sure lamar has an expiring contract, but unless we are getting an expiring contract as well, no way buss is paying 20 mil a year for say a dirk or duncan even if sa or dal is retarded enough to do that trade. not with kobe pau and drew already on the books for 50 million per year

NEW YORK (AP)—The Los Angeles Lakers won’t know the severity of Andrew Bynum’s right knee injury until Monday.

Bynum underwent an MRI on Sunday, but spokesman John Black said the team wouldn’t have the results until the next day.

Bynum was hurt in the first quarter of Saturday night’s win at Memphis. Kobe Bryant drove to the basket, missed the shot and crashed into Bynum’s right leg. Bynum immediately grabbed his knee.

“Everybody’s just upset for him and disappointed for him,” Bryant said before practice Sunday as the Lakers prepared to play at the Knicks on Monday night. “But hopefully everything will be OK. We’re all optimistic about it.”

The 7-0, 285-pound Bynum’s injury brought back bad memories of last season for the Lakers. He went down in mid-January and was expected to be sidelined 8 to 12 weeks after bruising a bone in his knee and briefly dislocating his kneecap.

Instead, he missed the final 46 games of the season, as the Lakers lost in the NBA finals. He underwent arthroscopic surgery May 21 to remove some cartilage debris and smooth some rough spots on the underside of his kneecap.

Bynum is the Lakers’ third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder this season, averaging 14.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.

But the injury came as the 21-year-old seemed to be taking a major step forward in his fourth NBA season. In the five games before he was hurt, he was averaging 26.2 points, 13.8 rebounds and 3.2 blocks and shooting 65.3 percent from the field.
