A new PlayStation® Skills Challenge champion will be crowned as the New Jersey Nets’ Devin Harris, the Orlando Magic’s Jameer Nelson, the San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker and the Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose will take the floor on Feb. 14, as part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night at US Airways Center in Phoenix.

The PlayStation® Skills Challenge was introduced at NBA All-Star 2003 in Atlanta and consists of four players competing in a two-round timed “obstacle course” consisting of dribbling, passing and shooting stations. All players must observe basic NBA ball-handling rules while completing the course. The two players with the fastest times from the first round advance to the finals with the order of competition determined by inverse order of the first round times. At the discretion of the referee, television instant replay may be consulted for clarification of rules compliance.

Wow. Weird set this year.

Wasn't it like Kobe / Nash / Lebron / Wade a couple years ago?

Nelson is having an awesome year and we all obviously appreciate what Tony does, but the other two kinda surprise me.

I think Tony can take it. Only possible threat I see is Derrick Rose with his handles and speed.

Speed and quickness from this field other than Nelson. Don't know much about his passing ability though.

Waste of time! This basically comes down to who can make the top of the key jumpshot first.

Nelson dislocated his shoulder today...

yeah. who knows if he can participate now?

Devin Harris is a threat- he's real quick.
But I see Parker as being able to win it. :)

Exactly! the jumpshot shot is the key to this thing. I remember last time TP was in this he had trouble with the shot but he has improved his shot since then so we'll see what happens.

the reports say that Nelson probably won't be playing in the all-star game, so he'll be replaced in the game, and in the skills challenge..

Dear Mr. Stern: if you want this to be fun, please replace Mr. Nelson with Mr. Ginobili.

Yeah he was in the innuagural skills challenge, in fact he was the first player to ever compete in the skills challenge period. Problem wasn't just his shot though, problem was that he was going up against Kidd and Marbury at their peaks...I can't remember who the other guard was...I think it was Gary Payton and he was still pretty good. They made Tony go first so they could find out all the pitfalls to the challenge and he choked on that shot lol :lol
