BOSTON -- The FleetCenter has a new name: TD Banknorth Garden.

The bank reached a 20-year deal with arena owner Delaware North Cos. to put its name on the home of the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins, the companies announced Thursday.

Financial terms were not immediately disclosed, but published reports citing anonymous sources familiar with the deal said TD Banknorth would pay between $5 million and $6 million per year.

:lol

The Celtics miss out on drafting Tim Duncan, so they get the next best thing: TD Banknorth Garden. I guess "Tim Duncan Bankshot From 15-Feet At An Angle" was too long of a name.

Nice.

That's hilarious.

Are you sure its after Duncan?

The Magic play at the TD Waterhouse Center, but that's like a stock company or something.

I've always said, Duncan's nickname should be; "The Big Deposit"

I like it.......... it has a better ring than "The Big Fundamental" especially because it was coined by SHAQ.

Better one was a lawyer from new york won it and wanted to name it the Derek Jeter Centre but the Mayor i think it was said that they considered it an obscene name in the town of Boston. The guy then named it after some charity but upped his bid to include a $100 for every year since the last BoSox championship.
