View Full Version : Realistic Trades

I was thinking about this but I don't know if they are willing to trade him anymore. How about trading Matt Bonner for David Lee from the Knicks? Lee is averaging 15.9 ppg and 11.7 rbg. I know he's on the last year of his contract and I heart that D'Antoni wasn't all that thrilled about his style. Bonner would fit in well cause he's a shooting big man. We don't need that, we need a rebounder and an interior defender.

is your combination of calling the thread "realistic trades" and proposing Bonner for Lee some kind of sarcasm I don't get?
and what a nonsense that D'Antoni doesn't like how Lee plays?
even if he did (what he doesn't), why should they trade a 16+12 player, who half the league would love to get, for a limited 8+5 player with no upside. because they need a "shooting big man"?. ever heard the names Harrington and Thomas. coincidently both happen to be on the Knicks roster.
please change this "realistic" to "clueless trade proposals"

Excuse me if I'm not on here 24/7 posting. I have a life, idiot. If you don't like it, fuck off. I'll post any god damn time I want.

As far as it being stupid? Let's look at some Spurs previous trades: Dwayne Schinztius for Antoine Carr? How about Sean Elliott for Bill Curley?

And I'm sure the Gasol for Kwame Brown made perfect sense. Illogical trades happen all the time, moron.

I guess you weren't paying attention when Lee was on the trading block earlier this season. And the Knicks aren't excatly genuises when it comes to trades. After all, THEY STILL HAVE MALIK ROSE!!!!

so you equate the value of bonner for lee as similar to gasol for expirings, 3 1sts, and marc gasol? wow...

wow again. not following the nba very closely are we? isiah is no longer with the team (walsh took over this year), so you wont be stealing assets just because its the knicks anymore.

as for lee being on the block earlier in the year, he was. but they were looking to move curry along with lee to get his contract off the books. moving just lee for 2010 expirings is retarded. moving just lee for 2010 expirings with the way he has been playing recently is a special kind of retarded.

Are you that stupid?? My point is they took on a huge salary for a guy that never plays. It happens. And by the way, the reason I said 'Realistic' is because the contracts would match. It makes more sense than the others who think we actually trade for Marcus Camby. And my point on starting this thread was to get input on others who might have other trade possibilities. But only the arrogant assholes wanna shit on people who try to start topics of conversation. Go back to tuggin it, jerkoffs. :flipoff

I think Matt Bonner fits better on a team like the Orlando Magic because they love to shoot a lot of 3-pointers.

Matt Bonner for Dwight Howard!

Yeah anythings possible in this league but the knicks wont give up lee for bonner. But stay tuned till the deadline. Something interesting always happens around trade deadline. Will be fun to see.

but some "old" posters who seem to take pride at bashing continuously and immediately every post they find irrelevant are way more pathetic.
you know the: "Moron !" "what a genius "! ":rolleyes" kind of reactions

"The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired forward Pau Gasol...(and a) second round draft choice in 2010. In exchange Memphis will receive forward Kwame Brown, guard Javaris Crittenton, guard Aaron McKie (who the Lakers signed earlier today), the draft rights to Marc Gasol and first round picks in 2008 and 2010."

It is hillarious how some of you "bloggers" feel that you're more enlightened than others. We are all throwing out ideas. I think instead of trying to put down someone's post, you could do what I believe the author wanted and add on to his initial idea of a base trade involving Lee for Big Red.

If the Knicks do your trade, would they take a pack of microwave popcorn for Al Harrington. Maybe we can get Kobe for Tiago Splitter. After all Kobe will die one day and the Lakers will lose him.

It should fall under the 125%+100k rule. If they were under the cap, they could take back up to the salary cap or 125%+100k I believe.

Still, who trades a big for a big with half the production (well, less than)? Throw in a draft pick or two and maybe some rights to the overseas players and you might have something, but no way you see Lee/Bonner straight up.

Is there some kind of "minimum experience" clause on this board that I missed? Oh, wait a minute...... there's a correlation between # of posts and one's ability to start a coherent thread right?

Having said that, arodz your thread is, unfortunately, nonsensical and not well thought out. Makes me ashamed to have less than 1000 posts........

Where as I see a Bonner/Lee trade to be ill-researched in context of this thread, the Knicks are trying to shop him out, right? He said some sh*t recently about the organization (as any sane person on the Knicks in the last decade (save Stephon for being sane, not bitching) would do), and the comments were at least media worthy of speculation. So... Unless they're clearing cap (which isn't really the heart of the Knicks franchise, obviously) David Lee is not coming here (And for the record I hope I'm wrong). If Phoenix shops out Amare, and the Knicks aren't just looking for 2010 space, maybe they could make a run for Lee + filler. Of course both of those team's problems run far deeper than that.

Oh, and I had a really hard time writing my post considering that I only age in Spurs Talk years and my only education has come through this site. I have to type one letter at a time with my little baby fingers. To think that someone new to the board (and under 1000 posts (scoff)) never has anything valid to post seems a bit presumptuous. All the trolls with over 1000 posts...thread start AWAY!!! You've been given free reign and will never be called out for idiocy. Why? 'Cause you got 1000 posts under yer belt, bitch!
