Do you think the Lakers would do this? This person I know is saying the Lakers would never do it and Kobe is better than Duncan and Parker COMBINED.

We'll give the expiring of Udoka and Vaughn + Finley for Kobe... but Finley needs to approve...

Another example of how you shouldn't be able to start threads until you've been around a while.

Or, in the case of people like Rapper, until you show you have a clue.

Paging everyone: if you have a trade idea, don't post it. 8 out of 10 you're a dipshit with no semblance of how the NBA even works but you don't know it. So to be safe, just assume you are - don't post that trade idea.

You guys are fucking stupid. I said WOULD they do it theoretically. There is no way I am advocating this trade. Me and this guy just had an argument and he basically said Kobe is better than those 2 players combined.

idiotic.

Duncan is more valuable than Parker and Bryant combined.

Also, if the Spurs did not have Duncan, they would have no rebounding, no shotblocking, no post-up big man and not much for interior defense and team leadership. They would have no inside-outside offense and not much for pick N rolls. They would be a below .500 team waiting for the lottery.

Theoretically you are a dumb shit. Some ST members and I got together to discuss this and we all came up with the same answer.

Theoretically

Problem with the original post is whether the Lakers would do the trade or not does not prove that Kobe is better than Duncan and Parker combined.

There are other reasons that factor into why a trade would or would not be made. The Lakers wouldn't do that because of what Kobe means to the Lakers franchise as the face of the franchise. It's not just about which player or players is better than the other. It's the same thing for Duncan and the Spurs. Even if the Magic offered Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis for Duncan, the Spurs would not do it and it wouldn't be only about basketball abilities of the players.

Kobe Bryant may or may not be better than Duncan and Parker combined. People can debate it. But, whether he is or not would not be the sole reason whether the Lakers would trade him for both Duncan and Parker.

Kobe is not, never has been, and given their similarities in age, never will be as good as Tim Duncan.

Rings

Tim 4
Kobe 3
Parker 3

Finals MVPs

Tim 3
Kobe 0
Parker 1

MVPs

Tim 2
Kobe 1

1st-Team, All-NBA

Tim 9
Kobe 6

TOTAL for most important NBA accomplishements:

Tim 18
Kobe 10
Parker 4

Note - Tim Duncan is 5th all time in this category of most important NBA accomplishments, behind only:

Jordan 27
Jabber 24
Magic 20
Russell 19

Tim will add his 10th 1st-Team, All-NBA this season, tying him with Bill Russell. He has a shot at another ring and Finals MVP which could move him tied or ahead of Magic as the 3rd greatest player in NBA history.

Career accomplishments definitely go to Duncan, but that as well doesn't mean Duncan is a better player than Kobe.

Pop and Duncan themselves last season in the playoff series between the Spurs and the Lakers both called Kobe the best player on the planet.

Duncan is more accomplished. Kobe is "probably" (I say probably because it's at least arguable) the better player.

Kobe is better at circus shots and nailing threes, otherwise Duncan is better. Its not even close.

So Pop and Duncan were lying? Or they just don't know what they're talking about?

I highly disagree that if the Magic offered Howard and Lewis that the Spurs would not trade Duncan. I am almost willing to bet my life that they would do that deal. Would it hurt? Yes. Would it be emotional? Yes. Would both Duncan and the Spurs realize it was the right thing to do? Yes.

Duncan is a psychology major. He is lulling them to sleep.

Kobe is obviously better than Duncan at this point of their careers, although they're much different players in style..Duncan's career is obviously better, but that's not the question...

I love your signature.

BTW i was browsing through a formula 1 forum and there was this guy who was punking pretty much every single guy on that forum, and for various reasons i got into a fight with him.

I got tired of the guy and replied back with your signature GIF, and guess what they banned me. :wow:wow

I am glad and grateful that we have cool Mods around here. :toast
