Do you agree or disagree with the Buy America clauses in the proposed stimulus package?

I'm at a total loss here. Cannot decide.

I'm also sort of torn on this one. I live in PA so the provision that the stimulus funds be used to purchase steel made only in the U.S. would be a big boost for this state. However, the potential for backlash from pissed off trading partners could hurt our economy even more.

Maybe the enviro-net groups will forgo their foreign funding used to weaken American wartime strength and lighten up on the steel industry.

I would sell alaska and hawaii to however offers a considerable bid if I had the rights to do so. maybe we need an auction to sell them as high as possible, the lowest price I can accept is 10 trillion US dollars.

I at a loss with it too. there are several factors to consider. I would prefer to buy American, but then we increase the market share of businesses that will then lose it when they no longer have the stimulus money!

Could it be another intentional attempt for the liberals to make capitalism fail so they can strengthen their arguments for Corporatism, Marxism, and Socialism?

Socialism is great, until you run out of people to pay for it!

I believe we should have affirmative action for buying American and employing Americans.

The Prohibit Buy America Act (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d111:SP279:) failed by a vote of 31 to 65 (http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=111&session=1&vote=00044), for those interested.

But but but we can't sell Alaska. We can see Russia from our bedrooms - we're keeping an eye on them up there. LOL.

Do you realize you're quoting Tina Fay's perception rather than Palin's?

Right. If you want actual stupid quotes, here's a good list.

Under the "Top Ten" I read the first one:

1. "As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border." --Sarah Palin, explaining why Alaska's proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience, interview with CBS's Katie Couric, Sept. 24, 2008 (Watch video clip)

Did you know they edited out the majority of her response to make her look dumb? There is an unedited transcript available on the web someplace. I read it. Have you?

Because you posted propaganda, I didn't bother wasting my time with the rest.

I'm sorry, I've read some articles... but I haven't read "all of them". Get it?!? Hahaha. I wish I had enough time to read all the magazines like Palin.
