Denver just sucks on defense. This is nothing new. Chauncey is an improvement over AI on that department, but the rest of the team is just more interested in jacking up shots than playing D. That's why they're bound for a quick first round exit. Actually, the Mavs/Utah/Phoenix/Rockets should really try to position themselves for that matchup as it gives them the best possibility to move to the second round...

Denver's athletic bigs give our Mavs matchup problems, but I guess in spite of that they'd still be a preferable opponent than the likes of the Lakers, spurs, Hornets, etc.

Statistically Denver has a solid, but not great defense. I think it was really good at beginning of year and has slowly been regressing since.

Nothing more than a loss to a crappy team that was due. The Nuggets had played 4 games in 5 nights and just didn't come to play at all

It sucks but they are 20-1 vs teams under.500 since the Billups trade, so that is still pretty impressive that they take care of the teams they should.

It's a huge improvement over past season where they would always play hard vs tough teams and drop the easy ones

Still only counts as 1 L in the loss column

We played our scrubs, and made it competitive in their own house. That's how much they blow on defense. But with Karl as the coach it's been always a problem. I'm sure any Nuggs fan here can tell you. They're not the kind of team that get a stop when they need one. They either play good defense all game, or they just plain suck. They don't seem to be able to turn on the defensive pressure when needed the most, like good defensive teams do. And it has historically been the reason they don't last long in the playoffs...

What happened? They missed Iverson tonight.

:lol

:lol Sure the Nuggets would have got more points but then the Nets would have score 150 with Harris going for 50! :lol

JamStone

:lol Or score 19 points in 40 minutes like the last time the Nets played Iverson and the Pistons.

:lol

Who was guarding sessions tonight? AI or Stuckey?

JamStone

Iverson, Stuckey, Hamilton, and Afflalo were all on him during the course of the game.

the nuggets are 1 big man away.... oh wait they had him but traded him for a 2nd rounder. oops

One big man away? Nene is fine.

Try one superstar away, no team with hit and run fighting pussy Carmelo Anthony will ever win a championship

only team the Nuggets could beat in the 1st rd is the Mavs........Mavs are an easy beat for whoever gets them if they make the playoffs

Ghazi
02-08-2009, 01:24 AM
I'd give the Mavs a 100% chance in that series, considering Melo wins 0% of his playoff series.

Besides, this thread isn't about the Mavericks, it's about the Nuggets losing by 44. :toast:

Yep, only by 8 with no big three. We would have won by 20 if Parker played.
