I'd just like to remind you guys of a couple of things I said early on this season.

1) When we are playing great teams, Parker can and many times will be taken out of the game. Top tier teams gameplan to stop Parker, and unlike Manu and Duncan, if you play him right (shut down the lane, don't give him any daylight) he can't create for himself.

That being said, I thought he played a great game today against the Celts, being patient and keeping the offense going without forcing the issue. Despite shooting 25% against a defense that was determined to shut him down, he only had one turnover and 7 assists. That's going to keep us in any game.

2) Mason is still a killer (Just hope he makes a habit of showing up for the rest of the game).

To all those freaks who questioned the Pop of the Tops' decision to rest the Top 3 (+1 - Finley) for the Denver game.. here's your answer, dudes.. Beating the Champs at their hallowed Garden. Is there a better statement of Pop's worth?

To all those freaks who want instant trades outta every minute possibility, here's your Red Rocket response. ..Trust in those who put in their effort day in and day out.

I still think the Spurs go pat through Feb 19th.. and add a veteran big (Joe Smith maybe) and thats that.. and become players in the trade scene after the season. Enough said. Time to pop some 'pagne over this great win.

No big deal for Celtics. They had a tough stretch and have ups and downs. They are still the class of the East IMO.

The Lakers will go as far as Kobe takes them but they are going to hit a bad patch too. If we keep improving on D and stay healthy, we'll have a shot at catching them for 1 seed.

Good win. Mason almost cost us the game with his horrible defense on Ray Allen late in the game(I was screaming for Pop to put Bowen in), but he once again atoned for it by hitting a big three.

Good to see Bonner and Hill stepping up and playing well against a quality opponent. This is the kind of play we will need from them to compete in the playoffs.

Wow...great road win in the Garden...even after coming out totally flat to start the second half, the Spurs get it done in crunch time. Once again, Roger Mason hit a huge 3 right when we needed it. GO SPURS GO!!! :flag:

you do realize allen is very clutch
I do. I also realize that he got caught on several screens(he was not trying very hard to fight through them the whole game) which let to an open jumper for Allen and led to Allen beating him to the rim...which caused Duncan to help and leave KG wide open to drain another jumper. Those two sequences almost cost us the game.

This Boston team I said on the Chris and Jason show on Friday and I will reiterate, are not as good as they were last year. Losing Posey and guys like Leon Powe coming back to earth were big hits.
Saying boston isn't as good as last year isn't anything new at this point. Losing PJ Brown also hurt.

Major major props to the Spurs for getting their biggest win of the season so far!

Great win. Matt Bonner is the next David Robinson, with range.

Getting bored of this Kobe Bryant Lebron James love-fest in the following Laker-Cavalier game. Jeez.

Bonner was big today. If he can do that against the Lakers we'll be in business.

Hill was also big of off the bench during the 2nd half.

The big 3 did their thing with only Parker struggling offensively.

Thomas was solid.

Mason sucked all game long and I kept screaming what a terrible shot and he hits nothing but net. Clutch down the stretch for sure.

I thought Finley was actually decent one on one with Pierce but he was all screwed up on rotations. No factor on offense with only 4 shot attempts.

just got back from meeting and found out the news. Who'd a thunk we could win with Parker going 3-12 for 7 points.

Bonner is sealing the deal as the starter. Couldn't have won without him.

If we had one more wing that could bring the huthle muthle on D, we would own the celtics. Even with our frontcourt the way it is. Can you imagine putting someone of marginally effective defensive intensity on Pierce, and letting Bowen OWN Ray Allen like a champ?
The Celtics offense would look like ours did during the first 6 minutes of the 3rd quarter.

is there a clutcher team in this soft ass league? damn all we need is 50 wins, and keep the finals games within 3 at the end. and then its money. i mean damn look at the finals favorites, boston and la. next to no expirience off the bench. almost no clutch shooting(none for the lakers). ill go ahead and count the lakers out right now. kobe and fish. all the expirience they have. thats it. celts have eddie, paul, ray and kg. spurs? roger mason jr, bruce bowen, kurt thomas, tim duncan, manu, tony, finley, how many big shots have they made between them. damn.

Am I the only one that felt we got lucky in this win? Bonner needs 23 points. Last 2 and a half minutes we kept having ZERO rotation on KG after the pick n roll and he was getting free shots. Mason clutch 3 along with Bonner somehow getting KG off his feet and then rattles in the free throw line shot. Man even KG busted a 3 after house added one. I kind of got the feeling we got left off the hook on this one and really lucked out on Allen having that ball kind of slip off his hands.

Bonner just did what he had to do, Celts doubled TD AND TP, if they wouldnt have, they would have got theirs and we still would have won, so either way, a win is a win. Plus, LUCK IS A PART OF THE GAME.

And the game blogs are so funny because I rarely check them, but when I do usually the player being bitched about comes back and does something huge.

Most of you are fucking retards. How do you go through life with so much drool coming out of your idiot mouths?

+1, but I'd switch out retards for pussies, especially cap b, no faith AT ALL. I was pissed at Mason too, but almost everyone who said shit took it too far. Dude has 4 game-winners now, all 3pt plays(only one And1).:king

Duncan had a sublime game, but that's a given. When Bonner scores more than 15 and grabs more than 3 boards, AND hits half of the clutch shots down the stretch, you give him the goddamn wall.

Well if Bonner scores 8 to 10 I'm happy.

If he gets 5 to 8 rebounds I'm happy.

So I agree :lol

Hells yeah. I was conservative at saying 3, cuz I thought he had 5. But the red rocket was 2 boards shy of a double double.:depressed

What's Pop thinking playing Bonner only 36 minutes!?!/sarcasm
