assuming the guy that said this is really friends with Big Al. Shitty, a very unhateable player who works his ass off on a bad team. Come back healthy next year Al.

When I saw it, I was all like, oh it's not that bad. Partial MCL tear at worst. I'm sad I was wrong, that's a bummer.

Message boards are extremely bad sources for stuff like this. I'm hoping the axiom holds in this case too, as I love watching Jefferson.

That doesn't establish anything. I bet a lot of us have pics with NBA stars (I have a few), and even if we don't, we could just use someone else's photo. Hopefully this guy is passing on bad third-hand info or just straight trolling here.

That sucks. Big Al can flat-out ball. At least Kevin Love will get some more burn now.

Terrible news for basketball fans and for the resurgent T'Wolves. Here's hoping Al has a speedy and complete recovery and is back at it soon.

Minnesota Timberwolves standout center Al Jefferson is out indefinitely with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the team said today.

Jefferson will have surgery in six to 10 days.

"This is an unfortunate situation for Al and we wish him a quick recovery," Timberwolves head coach Kevin McHale said in a statement. "Al has been playing at an all-star level all season and has been our go-to-guy on the court. Knowing Al, he will work hard in his rehab efforts to get back on the court as soon as possible. In the interim, I'm confident that the other players on our roster will step up and meet this challenge

The 6-foot-10 Jefferson was hurt in the final minute of Sunday night's 101-97 loss to the New Orleans Hornets.

Jefferson is averaging 23.1 points and 11.0 rebounds, both team-leading totals.

Why are they saying indefinitely? He's out for the season, why not just announce that?

Might be out for part of next season as well....ACL tears take a long time to heal.

I feel bad for Big Al...he seems like a very humble, hard-working kid. That said, he has never based his game on supreme athleticism so this injury should not affect his future performance greatly.

I wish him a speedy recovery.

Maybe the T-wolves will fold and get lucky in the lottery and draft Blake Griffin to play alongside Jefferson.
