Randy Foye, top 10 NBA player! :lmao
Shit like this is why Cuban should be making zero basketball decisions.

I'm also gonna predict that the numbers somehow rank Devin Harris dead last in the NBA, behind Kwame Brown and that douchebag with the ponytail from Phoenix.

Grant Hill and Jarvis Hayes in the top 20?
Matt Bonner 29th?
Awesome.

I'm all for it if the teams are expanded to 15 v 15 and Bonner gets some minutes.

Ähem... yes... I'm a Mavs-fan, but some parts in this ranking are definitely beyond my way of understanding basketball.
So Randy Foye is better than Kobe?
I'll take some of what Cuban's smokin

Well, at least we know why the Mavs aren't doing any trading.
Why would the Mavs need anything else? They already have the 2nd best player in the NBA.

Larry Miller has the best system for ranking players. It's called the Miller Metric System. Add points, rebounds, steals, blocks and assists. Subtract fouls, turnovers and shots taken. Divide by minutes played.
It turns out to be a number similar to a baseball players batting average. Usually the better players will be in the .350 or higher range.

According to Cuban...Millsap, Kirilenko, and Okur are all better than Nowitzki. Take that Dirk lovers.

By this metric. He is saying that it's also reflective of how a coach uses his player and what that player does with his time on the court. So going by this measure I think he should fire the coach since Dirk is not being used *correctly*

I remember seeing another metric last year that had Jason Kidd in the top 5 and Dirk around 25th. Marcus Camby in the top 5 as well. I think its that "win shares" group
But yeah, this is whack!

Matt Bonner + filler for Dirk. Come on, he's only 6 spots back. Jacques Vaughn isn't there because he's off the charts.

If the rumors are true, and they are going to fuck up Stack's expiring by taking on Udrih, then Beno should be making an appearance in the top 10 soon.

All Cubes is trying to do is justify that stupid trade before the Mavs fans wake up and run his ass out of town on a rail. All that effort for something so stupid basically kills the suggestion by some that AJ was the one out in front asking for that trade.
If his system is accurate, at least it proves that Wade >>> The Mavs.

Mark should read more Hollinger on this issue. +/- is one of the most biased statistics for basketball. I predict someone like Josh Powell or Brian Scalabrine have a high +/- because they are scrubs for elite teams, and get to play in a lot of garbage minutes. That means nothing in reality.

To an Avery knobslobber without a clue, sure. To anybody who actually followed the situation, we all knew Avery was the leader of the "trade Devin Harris" charge.

While it's true that AJ was clearly not happy with Harris as his starter, that in no way confirms that he was leading the "aquire Jason Kidd" charge.

Mark said the system compensates for that. I think it just doesn't compensate for garbage players, like Kidd...

Except Avery actually admitted that he went to Mark and said the words, I need a point guard.
Then he tried to twist it around with some BS like oh, I meant we need to get Devin playing better! I didn't want to trade my son!

Avery demanded that Devin Harris be traded for a point guard with more experience. Jason Kidd certainly fits that description.

So if I say that I want the Spurs to trade for a center, and they trade Duncan, Manu, Hill, Horry and two draft picks for Shaq, should I be happy that I got what I wanted? Shaq certainly fits my description.

If you were that piss-poor an evaluator of talent, so bad that you'd give up on Duncan and ask management to trade him, I'm sure you indeed would be pleased with that trade.

So we agree that Cuban's a piss-poor evaluator of talent, since he's pleased with the trade and thinks Kidd deserves to be anywhere near that high on his list.

Cuban and Avery both.
I'm not absolving AJ of the blame, I'm just not convinced that he wanted to go all in on Kidd. I never understood why he didn't like Devin, but it's pretty clear that he didn't. If I had to climb into his head, I'd say Devin reminded him too much of the guy who took his job in San Antonio. Lame, I know, but I can't come up with anything that makes more sense than that. At the time I actually thought AJ wanted to trade Harris for a decent pass-first point guard, some other pieces and give some more responsibility to JJ and Jet, but JJ fell out of favor with everyone in the organization not long before the trade.
