Spurs need to stay focused after the Boston win. Go into Jersey, take care of business to make things easier for the B2B, then they have a nice break to look forward to.

I'm already not looking forward to watching Devin Harris pwn Parker. Hopefully Tony can come up with a surprise.

Don't have a great feeling about this one. Spurs coming down from an emotional high against a team full a players they have had difficulty stopping in the past?

I was supposed to go to this game, but school work is getting in the way..I guess it's a good reason not to go..

Nets are impossible to read, you never know which team is going to come out..

I guess since Harris is playing, we can expect Tony to struggle:rolleyes

Brace yourselves, this will be a close one.

I have a feeling we will come out slow (letdown game), but find our game some time in the 2nd/3rd Q and win a squeaker.

Love Lopez's game, and Harris', but Vince Carter bites.

Matt Bonner vs. Ryan Anderson is a matchup of the exact same player..

My thoughts exactly. Bonner is a little thicker though, and of course he has the Red Rocket on his head! :lol.

Why do Spurs feel they need to shoot 3s when they're leading by 7?

Its retarded.

No, you are retarded, as usual. We are the second best 3pt shooting team in the league, and Mason eats up open 3s. As for Mason giving it up to Finley, that's an effort to get him into the game.

Nothing wrong with shooting 3s as long as they are good looks, and mixed in between other offensive sets.

228 - notice against the Celtics that Timmy did something he almost never does, and he did it TWICE: on the left block, he tried to drive baseline, put up weak right handers and got rejected both times. Very odd. I'd like to see him drive that baseline more often, but he has to use a LEFT hand hook for the finish so that the ball is protected by his body. Going with the right hand in that situation is the same bad move as that one he did a lot last season on the right block going to the middle and shooting with his right (when, once again, he should be using the left to protect it with his body).

Anyway, thought you'd have noticed this. :D

I don't like Duncan using his face-up drive game at all vs. quicker defenders..he can get away with it vs. slower defenders like Lopez, but I hate when he does it against quicker guys like KG..or athletic guys like Bynum..

he should never use that face-up drive vs. guys like that..Chandler was dominating him in the playoffs last year when he used the move..he should stick to the post-up game against the quicker or more athletic players..it's not like it's a bad thing, since he's the best at it..

Mate, it's simple - drive or shoot over bigger/slower guys, post smaller/faster guys. Sometimes, much to my surprise, Tim gets it wrong, but it happens rarely.

As for my previous post, Perkins was on him at least one of those two times and got the block! (...and Perkins is slower than Tim, so the drive is fine - as I said, he has to use his left if he's going to drive that baseline otherwise the ball is out there unprotected and a simple block).

FYI - I have been studying post moves for about 20 years. I learned my game watching Hakeem, then Tim. Played for the first time in a couple of years the other day and still have it - owned everyone who tried to play me in the post with a combination of drop-steps, baby hooks to both hands, baseline spins and face-up 15fters! :D

Duncan's J is definitely the best it's ever been IMO..it's a great addition to his game, it'll keep him fresher for the playoffs..

his bank shot has returned as well, since we haven't seen it as much the past few years..

Yup, the bank is back after he hardly used it the last two years - welcome return. And yeah, his J is money this year. 2 years ago he clanged a lot of those jumpers from the top 20ft out, this year he's making them.

And this year he's rarely forcing it in the post, which is a welcome change.

We will turn up the D at some stage i nthe second half, just as we have all season against lesser teams. Then it's "screw you VC" time.

Ice - Hairston was really good. Looks like a keeper to me, and probably what we all hoped Ime would be.

Awesome. How many minutes did he get? Did he do anything noteworthy?

See, we turn the intensity up in the 3rd, as we have been doing all season, and now we have a decent lead.

This team barely plays 1st halves unless it's against top opposition. They just coast, stay in touch, then start playing in the third. Typical veteran team move.

dogzofwar
02-10-2009, 09:06 PM
Mason really needs to yield his placement in the 3 point contest to Bonner. Bonner might not be able to finish a full 5 racks but at the rate he is making them....he doesn't need to.
