Again he was short (9reb-8assist).It's the 4th game with 8-9 assist since 2009 began .Amazing!!

Duncan had only one turnover.

That's an 8-1 assist/turnover ratio.

Get that from a big man and you win almost every time.

Get it from Tom Duncan and add great defense, 10 boards, 2 blocks, 50% shooting and 20 points and we've got # 5 baby!

Tim is having his best, by quite a margin, season ever on assist/turnover ratio.

So far, including this game, he has 188 assists and only 108 TO's, a ratio of 1.74 to one.

Career he's at 1.14 to one.

I posted in another thread that since the new year Timmy is averaging 4.7APG and only 2.3TOPG... That might creep up towards 5APG after this game. A 2-1 Assist:Turnover ratio is very good for a big.

Good post. Tim is playing like an unsung superstar and seems to get better as the season moves along. Tim truly makes his teammates better.

I've got a good feeling that we are gonna run into LA and the Cavs in the playoffs this year and we can take 'em out.

Purely speaking statistically, it's quite likely Tim finishes the season at 21/11/4/2 on 50+FG% with a great defensive impact on a team that wins 60 games after starting the season with horrific injuries... Behind Kobe and LeBron, he should be next in running for the MVP. (not that it matters) His season is being terribly underrated by the media, so far...

I was talking to my brother and we agreed Duncan is better than ever.. he doesn't have to do as much as 1999 thru 2004 but what he does do is so damn smoooooth that I think he's as dangrous as ever. Agree anyone?

He also had 4 blocks. I know that isn't a lot, but the rest of the players on both teams combined had 3.

Nope. Duncan's lost a lot of lift and quickness from his early years. He looks great compared to the last couple of years but if you go back and watch games from his early years, you'll definitely see the difference. He's still a great player but after a 1000+ games, this happens to everybody.

This has been his best season probably since 2003/2004. But the period between 2001 and 2004, he was playing at a level very few have ever reached, in the entire history of the league. As great as he is playing now, hes not close to what he was then.

His jumper from 15 to 18 feet is more consistent than it ever was. The bank is open most of the time as well. Add to that the improved passing, and this year is very very close to his MVP seasons.

Duncan smooth? he succeeds in spite of the clunkiness, which makes him even more admirable.

Tony's about the same. Shooting layups wrong-footed, or off both feet?

Both prove you don't have to be a super co-ordinated or heavily muscled to be the best in the NBA.

Neither one is ripped, but they do have a little better definition by the of the season. Manu, another scrawny super-star with clunky moves, goes skeletal! :lol
