SpursTalk.com Upgrade – Arcade, Casino and More

In this SpursTalk.com upgrade, there are a lot of additions. To keep track of everything, I will keep this post updated with the latest happenings.

-Arcade. The arcade is now active. Click on the Arcade link on the above navigation bar to enter the Arcade section. If you get a high score, you will get the game’s icon under your name. Currently, there are eight games but we’ll be adding many more soon. There are literally hundreds of arcade games that could potentially be added.

-Casino. Now you can use your vBookie cash in the Casino. There is Blackjack, Roulette, Video Poker, Let ‘em Ride, a sports pool, a lottery system, a limit poker table for up to ten users and a few slot machines.

-Social Networking. If you click on a username, you will notice a new Facebook/MySpace type interface. You can leave messages on other users’ profile, add friends, view statistics, etc.

-Notification System. Added a more inclusive notification system to replace the private message notification system. In addition to getting notified when you have an unread private message, it also alerts you when you have an unread visitor message, a new friend request, etc.

-Carver Symbols. For those who donated to The Carver Academy, you should have a symbol under your name now. Please let me know if you donated but don't have the symbol. Also let me know if you donated but you want to remain anonymous and not have the symbol (a number of you have already chosen this option).

We are aware of the few missing images and a few minor glitches here and there. We’ll be fixing those problems ASAP as we continue the upgrade over the rest of the month. Again, I’ll keep this thread updated with the latest changes.

Blackjack has some bugs to fix... if both you and the dealer get Blackjack it takes your money... also... you can split ANY cards that have a value of 10... so you could split a Q and K... don't know why you would want to do that.. but... you shouldn't be able to...

And are there higher value chips... this clicking the 10 thing 10 times is getting old... :P and 100 is the max bet.

I can already see a problem. Do Kori or someone have to individually reset the money in each account if someone loses it? Before when it was just v-bookie, if you lost your money, you were done. Now with people in the casino, they will want a refill. Might want to just set up where if you go to 0, you automatically get another 1000.

Added a sports pool to the Casino. It's like vBookie but instead of odds, it uses a pool format. Here is the description:


The sports pool works as a pool, so all the money bet goes into a pool which is divided amongst the winners. If outcome "A" has 150 bet on it, and outcome "B" has 250 bet on it there is 400 in the pool. If outcome "A" wins, and you had put the entire 150 in, you would win the entire 400. If you had bet 50 of the 150 you would get back 50 / 150 x 400. Or a 3rd of the pot, as you had placed a 3rd of the bet on the winning outcome.

Payout on the event is always 100% of the pot, divided amongst the winners based on the portion they put in, so there are no fixed odds or odds entered. So if no one bets on the loosing outcome, return is exactly what you put in. On the otherside if someone bets 1 on the winning outcome, and others had put a total of 5000 on the losing outcome, betting 1 gives you a 5001 return.

Also adjusted where the arcade high score icons are located under the username . . . .

There are bugs, but it's going to be long process. Just as an example I can't replicate any of the problems you or the others are mentioning - which makes it very hard to understand the problem and look for a solution. I actually only had problems the first day in Hold'em - which timvp now tweaked and it's stable for me...

Hold'em is really fun because it feels your playing with people you know - although it's actually not true.

For the record most of the work was done by Muki and timvp.
