San Antonio is considered the most likely destination for Vince Carter, but the two other Texas teams are interested in dealing with New Jersey as well.

The Spurs have offered a 4-for-1 package that includes young pieces like Roger Mason Jr. and George Hill, but the offers that the Mavericks and Rockets make could help the Nets over the short-term.

The Sporting News has reported that Dallas offered Josh Howard and Jerry Stackhouse, while Houston could ship Ron Artest's expiring contract for Carter.

I would like to see carter comes to spurs, then mavs will turn our package to detroit for Sheed. as we all know our team is in urgent need for a decent center, I think Sheed will be more helpful to us than carter. more importantly we won't have to lose josh howard to get sheed, pistons know clearly sheed is not even half as valuable as carter, but sheed is still much better than dampier. I suppose stack/fillers will be more than enough to bang pistons to trade us sheed.

God I hope not! Not 4 for 1.

There's a far better chance that your pint-sized, camera-loving, meddlesome, owner, Mark Cuban, pulls the trigger on a Carter deal before the Spurs do.

Cuban is not my owner, nor is he the owner of any other mavs fan, he may even lose his possesion of mavs team some day. maybe we should build a committe and raise some money to waive Cuban,:lol for the best of our team.

seriously I wouldn't trade Josh/Bass/fillers for VC until they add brook lopez to their offer.

Giving up Mason and Hill up is not the answer here.

The Mavs aren't offering Howard for Carter. Howard is 4 years younger, is 80% the player VC is, and his contract comes off the books in 2010. Carter's deal runs several more years.

I just heard Marc Stein on ESPN radio a few minutes ago. VC is not coming to the Spurs.

The Spurs would have to give up 4 players for him and the Spurs don't do business like that.

Even Tim Duncan said on Friday....that Vince is a good player but trading 4 or 5 guys to get one wouldn't make sense. And that bringing someone like that in mid-season would be tough.

I don't think it's going to happen.

I'd give 4 for VC in a heartbeat.

If we immediately traded Carter for Sheed afterwards. :D

Carter's not worth that contract. No way the Spurs can afford it.

Findog if Im not mistaken doesnt J-Hos contract run past 2010-2011? or is his final year a team option.

Our beloved Mavs need to swing for the mothafuckin senses. If I hear one more thing about 2010 Ima snap. 2010 FA class is just pure hype, I doubt anything earth shattering ot the NBA landscape is gonna happen, and if it does, likely not for our beloved Mavs.

We should throw ALL our chips in the table now, and be willing to deal with the negative effects of our gamble 2-3 years down the road.

V C? I wouldnt mind it.

There's a team option for 2010-11 on Howard. If his current team needs cap space in 2010, they can just renounce their rights to him and not pick up that option.

this makes it sound as though the spurs have officially made an offer to the nets.

have they?

Yeah there's nothing that spells success like dumping Josh for nothing only to drown in KFC failure when Dwyane Wade signs anywhere but Dallas.
