they havent been that great recently, playing good bball 20mins over 48 the two last games...
Pulling a great win against Utah would give them a lot of confidence to face the Suns...

Beno has looked solid tonight, but hasn't seen the court in the second half. Wake the hell up Pop.

Beno in the game finally. Rasho with lock down defense on Okur, forces airball to end the Utah possession.

Bowen with a jumper from the wing to start the fourth.

You are not watching the same game as I am Frenchise.

This isn't about trust, this is about Tony playing like shit tonight while Beno was rolling. Beno has played down the stretch and won games for us this year, so the experience issue isn't valid.

I love Tony's game and the way he's been playing lately, but he shouldn't have seen the court tonight in the fourth.

I don't agree. Experience is needed in these moments, no matter what you have been doing. However, you are right to say beno should have played more in this game.

Spurminator

Tim, Manu and Tony are now at levels in their games where they should be in the game at the end regardless of how they've played that game. Tony is rolling right now (up until tonight) and you don't want to break his confidence by benching him in the fourth quarter of a regular season game against the Utah Jazz.

If we lose, we lose, but Tony's got to know he's a leader now and a good chunk of the Spurs' fate rests in his hands.

Where did experience get Tony all game tonight? McLeod was lighting his ass up at both ends.

Jesus Christ, what did experience get us a few years back in the playoffs when Terry Porter and all the old people with "experience" were fucking it up vs. LA?

Beno has played entire fourth quarters for us earlier this year leading the team to victory no less, the "experience" argument is a retarded one.

You go with the hot hand, and tonight it's Beno. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

It's not about experience, it's about grooming Tony into a leader and a clutch performer. It's about letting him know that he's too mature now to have a Speedy Claxton save his ass when he's playing poorly. That's more important than one game.

You go with the hot hand if it means putting Bowen or Rasho on the bench, but we live and we die by Tony, Manu and Tim.

Well, then I'm probably wasting my time... we'll have to agree to disagree. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone else in this forum who would bench Tim Duncan at the end of the game because Robert Horry was hitting a few shots.

In the last minutes of the game, it doesn't matter what you've done in the previous 46. I want my best players out there. You don't have to force plays to Duncan or Tony if they're cold, but you'd still want them out there to keep defenses on notice.

1:10 San Antonio Full Timeout.
0:56 91-93 Tony Parker missed running jumper.
0:54 Mehmet Okur defensive rebound. 91-93

2. Wrong again. We had a total of TWO turnovers the last five minutes of the game.

3. That's not saying very much. Manu saved our ass, PERIOD. Don't even try to give any credit to Tony, unless it's for staying out of Manu's way.

Get over it. You don't put a rookie in a close game situation like this, no mater how "hot" he is playing that night. If Tim Duncan was having an off night, and Robert Horry was "hot", would you BENCH Tim Duncan in the closing minutes of a close game? If you say YES, then your'e crazy.

There is a lot to be said for experience and confidence and faith in your starting line-up. There's a reason why Tony got the starting PG position for a top team. I would hope that with the experience he has had, he would be able to use it in situations like this and still come up a) a solid play/assist b) a clutch shot c) handle the ball and play Defense.

PS. GO MANU!! AWESOME GAME :) I hope he can carry it over to Tues and Wed.

Tony has come up just as clutch in 4th quarter games this season as Manu and shown he deserves to be there till the end. How quickly you forget his clutch shot vs. Clippers at the SBC center or his perfect pick and roll pass to the open Duncan vs the Cavs and even today he came in and hit those 2 clutch FT's in a tight game, even though he wasn't having his best offensive game of the season.

Spurs fans are very tough critics. Once a player has an off night, people forget what he has done previously.
