Speaking of Carter, well-placed league sources say there is a good chance Carter is moved before the trade deadline. San Antonio, Dallas and Cleveland have all been mentioned as possible destinations, but sources say that the emerging dark horse is Houston (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=hou). A trade of Carter and Trenton Hassell (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=998) for Tracy McGrady (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=532) would achieve two goals for New Jersey: It would get the Nets another $15 million further under the cap in 2010, and it would allow them to remain competitive in the interim. It appears that the oft-injured McGrady has worn out his welcome in Houston, so it's hard to see why the Rockets wouldn't make that deal.

I don't think New Jersey is that stupid because they got king's ransom for jason kidd swap for harris. This rumor is such bullshit, however it would be 2 for none basically.

if i'm new jersey, i'm keeping carter unless it's an obvious upgrade. they've got a chance to do something special in the next couple of years before carter goes to the shitters for good.

I'd definitely do it if I was Houston.

I'd probably do it if I was NJ too. It's not like they are going to win the East with Carter on the team now.

Their best bet is to land a big time wing in 2010 to team with Harris and Lopez.

This trade gets them closer to that. Makes a lot more sense than carter to the spurs IMO.

I dont know if you've ever watched a game at the IZOD Center but that thing is always empty no matter who is playing for the Nets

I like this trade. Vince Carter gives us the scoring punch we used to have with T-Mac. New Jersey gets T-Mac who could potentially still have enough left in the tank to be a force next year. Forget about him this year. He has mental issues.

I'm in NJ and can attest to that. I attended two games this season (Detroit and San Antonio) and it was 10-15% empty... The Detroit game was actually closer to 5% empty because there were plenty of Pistons fans watching AI debut in their team. FWIW, we went to the Detroit game with the wife because they gave us two tickets for 75 cents each...

Rocketfan pipe dream. Mavs have a better chance of trading Dick Breath for VC.
