Mason had a lousy game and Tony was horrible. Matt Bonner can rebound a little but just cannot play defense. Torched by the little man Nate. Ugh. Awful.

Rogue is a fake Mavs fan. Anyone who is a member of Spurstalk long enough should know that.

who would have thunk that d'antoni would be the one to end it? :lol
I thought the goal was the make the defense BETTER as the season went along?
When teams are trading buckets, the outcome is a crap-shoot. Maybe that's why Hollinger claims that games decided by 3 points or less basically even out. In past years, the Spurs would have clamped down and held the Knicks scoreless for a 4-5 minute stretch in the 4th, and walked away with a solid win. That's not happening with this bunch, unless something changes drastically.
That's why I am so skeptical of the idea of getting Vince Carter. Trying to outscore good teams on the road is a losing battle. The Spurs got all the offensive firepower they needed last night, and then some. That was a defensive cluster-fuck, plain and simple. And Vince Carter won't change that.
If Mario Elie wasn't coaching, I'd say bring him back for the minimum and let him kick everybody's asses and toughen them up on defense. This team needs a bulldog like him.
