This is for you James White fans.
I just found this article that is about James White's free throw line dunk that won him the D-League dunk contest and includes a video of it (and also mocks Howard's dunk).
I don't know how to embed the video in this post so hopefully someone else can.

Read at: http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/the_sporting_blog/entry/view/17290/d-leaguer_shows_dwight_howard_how_the_free_throw_lin e_dunk_is_supposed_to_be_done

D-Leaguer Shows Dwight Howard How the Free Throw Line Dunk Is Supposed to Be Done.
When I look back at this year’s dunk contest, the only thing I’ll remember was TNT’s (and the judges’) blatant xenophobia towards Rudy Fernandez (http://ad.doubleclick.net/imp;v7;j;211237780;0-0;0;29237085;0/0;29947364/29965241/1;;%7Eaopt=2/0/ff/0;%7Eokv=;dcopt=ist;pos=top;sz=728x90;tile=1;%7Ecs =p%3fhttp://m1.2mdn.net/2007363/MLBInterstitialtemplate.html?t=20&cT=http%3A//ad.doubleclick.net/click%253Bh%3Dv8/37d8/2/0/%252a/h%253B211237780%253B0-0%253B0%253B29237085%253B255-0/0%253B29947364/29965241/1%253B%253B%257Eaopt%253D2/0/ff/0%253B%257Esscs%253D%253f&l=http%3A//www.sportingnews.com/blog/the_sporting_blog/entry/view/17259/dunk_contest_last_bastion_of_nba_xenophobia), who, despite two-minutes-plus worth of trying, converted the most impressive dunk of the night. None of the dunks from that point on was all that impressive or original. Especially not Dwight Howard’s “free throw line” dunk, in which a seven-footer took off from a foot inside the line and barely made it to the rim.

The night before, James White showed how it’s really done during the D-League Dunk Contest:

He actually took off from behind the line and flushed it with relative ease. And he’s about a half-foot shorter than Howard. I’d venture to say that’s the finest that dunk has looked since ... well, since MJ set the standard over 20 years ago. (Note: I realize Dr. J did it first, but MJ did it best.)

I posted this because it contains the video that people were looking for the other day :)

Great find, dude. I guess i wasn't the only one who realized Dwight didn't really dunk last year, he just kind of hurled the ball thru at the last second. I guess it is still impressive cuz big men shouldn't be able to do that period, but that wasn't a true dunk, imo.

Flight White would slaughter Carter, Jordan, Dominique, and anyone else who has ever been in the NBA in a dunk contest.

1. Dunk 1 - Tomahawk from FT line
2. Dunk 2 - Two hand dunk from FT line
3. Windmill from 6" behind the FT line
4. Between the legs from the FT line

I've seen better examples of 1,2, and 4; I have seen him do each from at least 6" behind the FT line.

The only dunker I've ever seen who could hold a candle to White is a French guy named Kadour Ziani

Kadour's double-rock the baby to sleep and Statue of Liberty are unreal.

Yeah, since HS, James White has been a better contest dunker than anybody in the NBA. I have followed him since then and have been disappointed that he hasn't stuck on an NBA roster. I actually think he is a decent player and could play bench minutes somewhere.

Side note: I was trying to tell people when he was on the Spurs roster that he would win the NBA dunk comp if he ever made it to an NBA roster and got minutes but I remember lots of people claiming I was saying that just because he was a Spur......

Did you notice on that last dunk, all the judges gave him a 10 except for one guy who gave him a 7. Reminds me of the Olympics.

I don't think White's skills were any secret when he was here. I remember Sean describing him as "freakishly athletic", and saying that he was the most athletic player in the league. It's a shame he didnt' have the whole package, because it would have been nice to have that kind of athleticism on the team.

He's gotten a lot of attention, so I'm sure he'll get another shot with an NBA club.
