After the all-star weekend, our beloved mavs continued their trip with a home game against Nets, who just lost a road game yesterday to houton rockets.

Vince Carter is surrounded by a dozen of rumours recently, but he still started for the nets tonight and hit the opening shot of this game, short after that he assisted Lopez to hit a layup. Nets started the game with 4-0 over Mavs but Wright answered it with a jumper soon afterwards. Harris made 2fts to make his team 6-2 lead over us with 10:16 on the board, but the nets didn't get a score during the next one minute and half until carter added 2pts to their book with a driving jump shot. Kidd did a perfect job during the scoring blanket of the nets, hitting two straight 3pt shots and assisting Dampier to make a alley-oop DUNK. This 8-0 run helped us build a 4pts leading gap, 10-6 with some 9min to go in the first quarter. But the nets soon fought back and eat up our 4pt leading gap. those two teams changed the leading role a couple of times during the rest time of this quarter, but neither of them managed to make the gap bigger than 2pts. those two teams finished the first quarter with a tied scoreboard, 28-28. 12pts for Kidd in this single quarter.

Nets did showed their passion in the 2nd quarter, they continued to limp with each other until the Nets rushed out with a 6-0 run to make the game 42-36, Nets leading by 6 with 6:18 on the board. Dirk busted our scoring blanket with two free throws but soon answered him with a lay-up. Dirk’s fade away jumper and Barea’s driving layup shortened the gap to 2pts. But Harris scored 4pts in the next 1:39 while our team just got 1pt from bass’s free throw. Nets was still leading by 5pts with 3min left, when an official timeout came. Dirk and Howard scored 9pts during the rest of this quarter to shorten the gap to 3pts when the 2nd quarter ended, 55-52 mavs down by 3.

Wright hit a layup shot to start the high-lighted quarter of tonight’s game, after that he hit a 3pt shot to gain us 2pt leading over nets with 10:50. but the nets regained their leading role with 4 straight points from Lopez, until we re-gained the leading stick at 8:25 when Kidd hit a 3pt shot to add the 15th point to his own book. Then the nets started to limp at offensive end… Nets only scored 10pts during the rest minutes of this quarter while we still kept our canon hot. Mavs built a 22pts overwhelming leading gap by the end of this quarter, 92-70 mavs ended the 3rd quarter with 22pts over Nets.

The two teams entered the 4th quarter which had already entirely become garbage time, nets tried their best to earn some respect and managed to outscore us 7pts in this single quarter. Nets deserved our respect while we got the win that we deserve. Mavs won their first game after all-star weekend over NJ Nets, 113-98.

Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk was still working like a real teamleader, though his 23pts was not team high. Dirk's scores always come to the moments when we need them most. Dirk didn't score in the first quarter, but he did fought back in the 2nd quarter. Dirk gained 16pts in this quarter while the rest of our team just contributed 8pts totally, his 16pts kept our team afloat till the 3rd quarter when we blew the nets out and pocketed the win ahead of time.

Jason Kidd

40:02 5-6 3pts 3rebs 10asts 7-10FG 1 stls 2 fouls 1block
Kidd scored 12 pts in the 1st quarter but his ast stayed at 3 till the 2nd half, which may partially expain why our team was outscored by nets in the first half. But Kidd is a experienced veteran that knows how to adjust himself and the strategy of his team, he changed our way and his efforts finally paid off. Kidd cooked up 5 field goals with 5 asts in the 3rd quarter during which our team pushed nets to lose and gained us a win at home.

Josh Howard

Howard played pretty good tonight, especially during the 3rd quarter when he scored 11pts. but what we need from this guy is not adding another several hits on a dead horse but scoring when our team is limping. Howard has already proved he is not a good one-on-one attacker, he can score considerable points only when Kidd feeds assists to him. not only his athletism, but also his mind has been badly harmed by his addiction for roor, who knows when he'll totally be erosed to a tmac-like player. I think it's a better ideal for us to trade him right now when his value is rather high. Dampier/Howard for O'Neal seems a good trade for both teams.

Erick Dampier

36:00 10pts 5-5FG 3asts 5rebs 3fouls
Dampier played a good game tonight, that just adds more feasibility to the trade I mentioned before. Dampier was pretty decent tonight, especially his 5-5FG, plus he also contributed 5 boards and 3 assists, but I'm sure O'Neal can do a lot more with our other great players around him.

Antonie Wright

39:57 20pts 3 reb 7-11FG 4-4 3pt 3fouls 2stl
antonie wright scored 20pts tonight, 4pts for himself while the other 16pts for those should have been scored by Terry. Wright has relief our grief of losing terry gradually, and he didn't let down our expectations and carlisle's. but he still need some tougher games to prove he is worthy of his starting position. his performances were pretty balanced on both ends, and his 2stls were also teamhigh.

Jose Juan Barea

16:56 6pts 3asts 3-7FG 4reb
Barea played more time tonight, but Kidd didn't play much less. Barea plays at PG position but he is still not mature enough to run the team himself, he still need kidd to teach him how to become a smart PG. Barea is a good player anyway, and he is capable enough to start for some weak teams like rockets. but on the mavs team, he still need to upgrade himself to reach the team level.

Brandon Bass

21:27 8pts 4rebs 3-8FG 1-2FT
Bass always plays good as our backup PF, tonight he also did what he should do. 8pts and 4rebs looked pretty good for a backup, though he missed 5shots and 1 free throw. more importantly, he makes it possible for Dirk to play less minutes than Kidd. besides the big hole at our center position, we also need some work to upgrade Kidd's backup.

Matt Caroll
http://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/Headshots/140x170/3785.jpg

03:22 0-1FG 1rebs
Caroll played pretty good tonight, at least we didn't expect him to do a little bit more. anyway his coming is just the result of moving Diop Donnie signed last summer, moving Diop may help disguise Donnie's bad work in sighing Diop, but can hardly disguise the fact that Donnie is a bad GM.

George blocked a shot tonight, maybe he'll boast of that for several months to come. Congrats George.
